Has four daughters (Merrit, Chandler, Winsor, and Everett).

Separated from his wife, Nanette, two years prior to his death.

He was raised in Placerville, California by a single mother in poverty. He studied briefly at the University of California at Berkeley and at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California.

He is survived by his wife and four children.

All of his daughters were named after famous artists and have the middle name Christian.

Died from acute drug and alcohol intoxication.
