Bam Margera Rejects Jackass Return or Viva La Bam Revival: 'Couldn't Pay Me Enough Money'
Image
Former Jackass star Bam Margera is back in the spotlight with his inclusion in the new Tony Hawk video game, giving fans a chance to see him elsewhere after his absence in Jackass Forever. Margera and the Jackass team had a big falling out during the production of the sequel, and that seems to have forever put the kibosh on a possible return to the franchise.

Margera discussed the way things were left with Jackass during an interview with CinemaBlend to promote the new video game Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3+4. He was asked if there was any chance he could revisit Jackass or potentially resurrect his spinoff series, Viva La Bam, in some way. Margera said that the Jackass ship had sailed after what happened with the last movie.

"They have like new dudes, and what they did to me, making me go to treatment and paying for it, and...

'Can't Wait to Not See It': Bam Margera Blasts Jackass Franchise Possibly Moving Forward
Image
Bam Margera exited the Jackass franchise amid controversy during the production of Jackass Forever, the fourth feature film of the franchise. Now feeling that the best days of Jackass are long gone, Margera has suggested that the franchise is finished, meaning that a potential fifth movie should be called something else. Margera even has a particular title in mind.

Margera was one of the original stars of the Jackass TV show that spawned the franchise, which also included his hit spinoff series, Viva La Bam. In 2020, Margera was terminated from Jackass Forever, and he subsequently filed a lawsuit, arguing that he was wrongfully fired. The two sides later reached a settlement, but the details were not disclosed. While the future of the franchise isn't entirely clear, Margera shared a new video on Instagram sharing his thoughts on a possible fifth film happening.

Johnny Knoxville Addresses the Possibility of Making Jackass 5
Image
The potential for Jackass 5 is uncertain as Johnny Knoxville is not currently feeling the urge to film another sequel. Despite not having the Jackass "feeling," Knoxville continues to write stunt ideas for a possible future project. Concerns about the physical toll on Johnny Knoxville from previous stunts may impact the likelihood of a Jackass 5.

Johnny Knoxville recently hinted at the potential for Jackass 5. He has been a key figure in the Jackass series, known for his fearless antics. Jackass Forever, the latest in the series, saw considerable success, which naturally led to questions about another sequel.

In an interview with ComicBook, Knoxville spoke about the possibility of revisiting his roots in audacious humor, while promoting his latest film, Sweet Dreams. He disclosed that while the desire for another go isn't currently burning within him, he continually conjures up stunts and sketches, storing them away for a possibly ripe future. Knoxville said:

Jackass 5 Gets Surprisingly Promising Update From Johnny Knoxville After Previous Comments
Image
Johnny Knoxville is open to the idea of Jackass 5, but doesn't feel the urge to make it yet, still jotting down ideas for the potential movie. If it gets greenlit, Knoxville has previously suggested leaning on the younger cast members introduced in Forever to continue the franchise in a safe and fresh way. Passing the torch to new stars while still including original cast members could keep Jackass alive for future generations.

Despite seemingly indicating the prior movie was the end for him in the franchise, Jackass 5 has gotten an exciting update from Johnny Knoxville. The co-creator/star returned to his stunt-driven property with 2022's Jackass Forever, the fourth theatrical movie which was largely touted as being the final installment, particularly for Knoxville and Steve-o, after the injuries endured throughout the years. Following Forever's record-breaking reviews and strong box office run, however, speculation of a fifth movie began swirling.

Jackass 5 Would Be Different From Previous Movies, Says Johnny Knoxville
Image
Johnny Knoxville explains how Jackass 5 would look somewhat different from the previous Jackass films if they were to move forward with another installment. Having started out as a series on MTV in 2000, Knoxville and his friends made their long-awaited return to screens earlier this year for the fourth Jackass feature film, Jackass Forever. More than ten years on from the release of Jackass 3, audiences were delighted to see Steve-o, Chris Pontius, Jason 'Wee Man' Acuña, Preston Lacy, Dave England, and Ehren McGhehey reunite for another round of ridiculous stunts and hilarious gags.

Alongside these returning fan favorites, the Jackass gang was joined by a handful of newbies as they were initiated into the group through a variety of wild stunts. Jackass Forever welcomed Sean 'Poopies' McInerney, Jasper Dolphin, Eric Manaka, Zach Holmes, Rachel Wolfson, and Compston 'Dark Shark' Wilson to the much-loved franchise, with these new faces having certainly held...

‘Jackass’ Stuntman Poopies Returns to ‘Shark Week’ After Gruesome Attack (Video)
Image
Jackass stuntman Sean McInerney, better known as Poopies, returned to brave the waters for Discovery’s Shark Week on Sunday (July 24) night, one year after suffering a terrifying shark bite. “I thought I was gonna die in front of my friends,” McInerney said in an emotional moment during Sunday’s special, Jackass Shark Week 2.0. “Um, that’s pretty heavy.” Last year, the Jackass crew performed a dangerous stunt as part of Shark Week that saw McInerney bitten on the hand and wrist. The injury severed multiple tendons, ligaments, and muscles, resulting in numerous surgeries and physical therapy sessions. McInerney still doesn’t have full mobility in his injured hand. However, despite the traumatic experience, McInerney was determined not to let what happened to him ruin his love for the ocean. “It’s really important for me to get over that fear,” he explained, “because I don’t want that accident...

‘Jackass Forever’ Stunts Outrage PETA, Calls For Criminal Investigation Of Cruelty To Animals
Image
Paramount’s new Jackass Forever film has drawn condemnation from People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, which called for a criminal investigation into the production.

The film was released this week and so far has grossed an estimated $20 million. The sequel to 2010’s Jackass 3D, it is the fourth main installment and the fifth overall installment in the Jackass film series.

PETA claimed a stunt in which Johnny Knoxville and Steve-o provoke honeybees into stinging Steve-o’s penis (killing many of them), and another in which a scorpion is put in someone’s mouth and hit repeatedly until the animal stings are particularly worrisome.

The organization has sent letters to Los Angeles city and San Luis Obispo County prosecutors about the matter. PETA points out that the Paramount Pictures movie—which appears to have been filmed at least partially in Los Angeles and San Luis Obispo County—likely broke state animal protection laws.

PETA Calling for Criminal Probe Over Alleged ‘Jackass Forever’ Animal Cruelty
Image
Ahead of the Paramount Pictures release of “Jackass Forever” on February 4 next year, the slapstick reality film directed by Jeff Tremaine is already in hot water. Following the release of the movie’s trailer — featuring Johnny Knoxville, Steve-o, Wee Man, and the gang — PETA has reached out to Los Angeles prosecutors demanding a criminal probe into the filmmakers regarding an alleged incident of animal cruelty. (Via Joblo.)

Here’s an excerpt from PETA’s press release:

PETA’s attention has been drawn to the production of the upcoming Paramount Pictures movie, filmed in Los Angeles County, the trailer for which shows Johnny Knoxville being charged by a bull, Sean McInerney being bitten on the nose by a snake, and a tarantula trapped in a plastic tube between Ehren McGhehey and Compston Wilson’s heads. PETA notes that these activities appear to violate California’s prohibitions on bullfighting and similar exhibitions,...

PETA Calls For Los Angeles D.A. Probe Into ‘Jackass Forever’ Stunts, Treatment Of Animals
Image
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals upped its campaign this week against Paramount’s forthcoming Jackass Forever. In a letter to Los Angeles Deputy District Attorney Kimberly Abourezk and L.A. City Attorney Mike Feuer, PETA Cousel Caitlin Zittkowski wrote that the film’s trailer contains “scenes apparently involving cruelty to animals.”

She specifically calls out moments that include “Johnny Knoxville being charged by an agitated bull, a person being bitten on the nose by a captive snake, and a tarantula trapped in a plastic tube between two people’s heads.” She notes that, since the film appears to have been shot in L.A., any violations would lie within the purview of their offices. According to IMDb, production did in fact take place in L.A.

The bullfighting scene, for instance, may violate California Penal Code section 597(b), according to Zittkowski. She says that section applies to any...

Gnarly New Shark Attack Footage Has Jackass 4 Star Poopies Choked Up
Image
When Sean McInerney, a.k.a. Poopies, joined the Jackass crew, his first stunt for a major TV show was participating during Discovery Channel's Shark Week. As part of a 'jumping the shark' Fonzie stunt for Discovery's summer series, the new member didn't land right, and he soon found himself in shark-infested waters. The sharks circled, and one attacked. Sean McInerney emotionally explains his ordeal and his very real feeling that he was going to die..

"It's a reminder that yeah, like, we are pushing it pretty hard. And this could happen, of course," Jackass Forever star Chris Pontius, who had been watching from the boat, said. "It's either, like, everything's okay or this happens. And hopefully it's always everything's okay, everything's okay. But then... you know, this time it's not okay."

In an interview taped after his injury, Poopies, nursing his healing hand, says, "I knew there...

Watch as a Shark Bites Jackass Star Poopies During Fonzie-Inspired Shark Week Stunt
Image
If you believed Jackass and Shark Week were a great match, you might want to have second thoughts. After doing many dangerous acts for years, one of the Jackass stars attempted to perform a stunt with a real shark. In the process, Sean McInerny a.k.a Poopies was bitten on the hand by the sea animal.

For Discovery's popular Shark Week, the stars of the comedy series were filming for the Sunday Jackass Shark Week Special. Sean McInerney and his friends had previously performed multiple tricks without getting hurt. They decided to take the level of danger to a higher degree by literally "jumping the shark". The stunt became famous on Happy Days when Henry Winkler's Fonzie committed the act. The actor was pulled by jet ski over a ramp where he jumped over the creature. Many critics and viewers alike felt the scene ruined the rest...

‘Jackass’ Shark Week Stunt Ends Exactly As You Think It Might – With a Shark Bite
Chris Pontius
Plenty of shows have “jumped the shark” over the years, so for Discovery’s annual Shark Week, the pranksters of “Jackass” decided to do so as well — just literally. And the stunt ended about as well as you’d think.

Naturally, the crew worked their way up to the stunt. To start, Sean McInerney — known as Poopies on the show — wakeboarded across shark-infested waters, making it through unscathed. (Even after his body was doused in chum at the beginning of the show). So, to up the Jackassery, the guys decided to have Poopies attempt to jump the waters on his board.

Of course, he only made it a few feet off the ramp before landing in the water, which you can see on repeat in the gif below. And upon landing, things took a turn.

Poopies launching over a pit of ten hungry sharks at full speed… don't try this at home.
