Em & Selma Go Griffin Hunting - Jennie Kermode - 19844
Milly Shapiro
In an alternative 1930s, whilst other people focus on try to survive the Great Depression, Em (Milly Shapiro) has another concern. Her time has come. In accordance with the tradition of her bloodline, she must pass through the sacred rite of womanhood by killing her first griffin.

“Why are they so ugly?” she asks her mother Selma (Pollyanna McIntosh), who explains that the reserve where they live doesn’t really offer a suitable environment, and they have also suffered from too much inbreeding. She remarks that they should leave a few breeding males for next season. Em doesn’t really want to bother with them anyway. She’s set her heart on a queen. She recites griffin facts from A North American Bestiary. Selma hands her an ornate heirloom knife “carved from the bone of a thing too old for names.”

Screened at Fantasia 2025, Alex Thompson’s gorgeously rendered film could be lifted right.

How Rick Grimes Is Still Alive In The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live
Image
This post contains spoilers for "The Walking Dead" franchise.

In "The Walking Dead," Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) is an apex survivor. Forced to combat impossible odds during the apocalypse, Rick has had to harden his heart many times to protect the ones he loves. There's an instinct-driven stubbornness to Rick, who is the kind of man to stop at nothing when his loved ones are put in danger. So, when Rick sacrificed himself to prevent the infected from attacking Hilltop in "The Walking Dead" season 9, it was an act in keeping with his fierce loyalty to the community at large. After blowing up the bridge, an injured Rick was last seen on a helicopter, whisked away by Anne/Jadis (Pollyanna McIntosh), who cryptically refers to him as a "B" (more on this later). Although presumed dead by his friends, the ever-resilient Michonne (Danai Gurira) decided to leave to search for him roughly a year later.

Outer Banks season 4 episode 9 recap: ‘The Storm’
Image
In Outer Banks season 4 episode 9, the Pogues are chilling and laying low after the events of episode 8. Remember, Pope (Jonathan Daviss) and JJ (Rudy Pankow) are still fugitives.

Groff (J. Anthony Crane) calls the Sheriff to tell them he hasn’t heard from Hollis Robinson (Brianna Brown). When they arrive at her house, they find her body, dead, and murdered. Groff tries to pin the murder on JJ and the Pogues, but Shoupe (Callum Moss) sees through it this time.

Outer Banks season 4 episode 8 recap: ‘Family Plot’
Image
After barely escaping with a very important map from very bad people, the Pogues do something very Pogue-like in the first scene of Outer Banks season 4 episode 8, “Family Plot.” They – well, not Sarah – get high and try to decode the map to the Blue Crown at Poguelandia.

They probably should not have gone straight home, because Chandler Groff (J. Anthony Crane) shows up a few hours later. He begs for help, and JJ Maybank (Rudy Pankow), the kind man that he is, tries to help him.

Groff reveals that they are now in possession of the Mogador scroll, a map, but he warns them that the Lupine Corsairs are very bad mercenaries. They will not let this go. Now, the Pogues are in grave danger.

Groff also tells them a story about the Blue Crown and how it came into the possession of Murad, a pirate. He also tells them...

Outer Banks season 4 episode 7 recap: ‘Mothers and Fathers’

Outer Banks season 4 episode 7 begins right when episode 6 ended. JJ Maybank (Rudy Pankow) returned to Goat Island to confront Chandler Groff (J. Anthony Crane) about the fact that he is JJ’s father. He looks at the portrait of Larissa Genrette on the wall, and it’s clear that he recognizes the resemblance between Larissa and him.

He asks Groff if he is his father, but Groff denies it. JJ reveals that Luke Maybank (Gary Weeks) was the one who told him that Groff was his father. Groff tries to lie again. JJ asks what really happened to his baby. Groff says that the baby drowned, but they never found the body.

It’s a very weird exchange, but they don’t have long before things hit the fan.

Captain Dalia (Pollyanna McIntosh) and Lightner return to Goat Island to revenge on Chandler for killing Omar, the person who was in their crew.

Outer Banks season 4 episode 6 recap: ‘The Town Council’
Image
Outer Banks season 4 part 2 picks up immediately after episode 5, “Albatross,” when Luke Maybank (Gary Weeks) reveals to JJ that he’s the son of Larissa Genrette (Tommi Rose) and Chandler Groff (J. Anthony Crane).

JJ still doesn't believe that he's the son of Larissa and Groff.

In the first scene of Outer Banks season 4 episode 6, “The Town Council,” we get a flashback to baby JJ. Luke helps soothe JJ while Larissa struggles with her relationship with her husband. Luke grows close with Larissa before Groff reveals she’s not doing well. Groff brings JJ to Luke’s house to give his parents a break.

Groff pays Luke to take JJ behind Larissa’s back, which is a bit strange, right? Like, it’s straight kidnapping. Larissa reportedly drowns with her son, which is not true because obviously Luke has JJ. Groff convinces Luke to keep JJ without telling the Genrettes that he’s alive.

The cast of Netflix’s ‘Outer Banks’

There’s good news and bad news for Outer Banks fans. First, the good news. Outer Banks has officially been renewed for season five. The bad news? The fifth season will be the show’s final season.

Series co-creators Jonas Pate, Josh Pate, and Shannon Burke penned a note to fans, explaining the decision:

At the time, seven years ago, it seemed impossible that we would really get to tell the whole five season story,...

8 Things The Walking Dead Has Revealed About The Rest Of The World After The Zombie Outbreak
Image
After years of focusing largely on America, The Walking Dead has finally started branching out into other parts of the world, with the franchise revealing more about the outbreak's global impact. When the original show first started, the story very much revolved around Rick Grimes and a small group of survivors, but as the cast expanded and the narrative got more complicated, the true influence of The Walking Dead's zombie virus became clearer. The apocalypse completely decimated the US and forced people to adapt to the new world, creating a plethora of interesting factions and communities in the process.

Alongside changing Rick and his countless allies' personalities, the new world also produced some more sinister groups, like the Saviors and the Whisperers. ‘Outer Banks’ Stars Tease What’s Ahead in Season 4: “Explosions, Craziness, Pogue Activity”
Image
[This story includes major spoilers from Outer Banks season four, part one.]

The first half of Outer Banks season four ended with several cliffhangers for the Pogues, many of which should be resolved, to some degree, in the second half of the season.

Over on Kildare Island, Rudy Pankow’s JJ probably gets the biggest bomb dropped on him when he learns that he’s not the son of his alcoholic and abusive father, Luke (Gary Weeks). His birth parents are actually the late Larissa Genrette and Chandler Groff (J. Anthony Crane) — making him the kind of person he hates, a Kook, and the grandson of Wes Genrette (David Jansen).

“It plays out in a series of outbursts,” Pankow tells The Hollywood Reporter of how this news will land with perhaps the Pogue-iest of the Pogues when the show returns Nov. 7 with the final episodes. “I think it’s an identity crisis in Part Two.”

He continued,...
