The original Jersey Shore cast was intended to be replaced after season one but stayed due to audience attachment.

It is hard to imagine Jersey Shore as anything other than the cast we know and love. However, the original concept of MTV reality was very different.

When Jersey Shore debuted on December 3, 2009, it quickly became a love-too-hate pop culture phenomenon. The reality TV show followed a group of self-described young guidos and guidettes enjoying a raucous, boozy summer in Seaside Heights, New Jersey.

VH1s reality content from the early 2000s is unparalleled for both good and bad reasons. Frankly, most of the content provided from series like Flavor of Love, Rock of Love, and many of their other romance-focused series would not be received the same way today. One of the series in their mix was A Shot At Love with Tila Tequila, and despite being terrible, the series managed to have two seasons.

To say that queer-centered reality shows are an underserved genre would be a major understatement. For those of us old enough to remember the hot mess that was A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila or the even older Boy Meets Boy, witnessing the rebirth of queer-led dating shows has been an absolute joy. Today, we’re welcoming the next series to put queer love on display with the arrival of the trailer for Netflix’s The Ultimatum: Queer Love. Taking a note from titles like MTV’s Are You the One? and Ex on the Beach, Netflix is dropping a lineup of contestants in paradise where they’ll decide if they’re ready to move to the next step or move on for good.

Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis began as a deleted scene from a pilot that wasn't picked up, and eventually grew into an internet video series that has earned two Emmys, had a TV special, a feature-length movie, and a 22 episodes that featured guests as varied as Tila Tequila to President Barack Obama. Created by Scott Aukerman and B.J. Porter, Between Two Ferns has Zach Galifianakis as the most antagonistic, uncomfortable, and unprepared host of a talk show to maybe ever exist. His attempts to insult his guests and generally be as frustrating of a host as possible makes every one of these videos a joy to watch. Even though there were only 22 episodes over the course of a decade, each episode felt like a hilarious gift, a strange takedown of celebrity culture that never gets old.

“Double Shot at Love” with DJ Pauly D and Vinny is a popular MTV reality series that stars “Jersey Shore” alumni Paul DelVecchio Jr. and Vinny Guadagnino. The show is a spinoff of the MTV original “Shot at Love” reality dating game show which starred Tila Tequila and the Ikki Twins.

What’s “Double Shot at Love” About?

“Double Shot at Love” was originally created to help the two reality star bachelors find their perfect match.

Vinny, sometimes lovingly referred to as the Staten Island “Keto-guido,” finished season one with a winning match in Alysee Joyner. However, the two did not make it long-term. Season two included love interest Maria Elizondo, but the two had reportedly ended their relationship before season three began. Maria does make an appearance in season three.

The third season finds Annie (played by Aidy Bryant) energized by new momentum at work and her breakup with dud boyfriend Ryan. In the trailer, Annie goes on dates and new adventures while finding her voice. The series stars Bryant, Lolly Adefope, Ian Owens, John Cameron Mitchell, E.R. Fightmaster and Patti Harrison.

Exclusive: Double Shot at Love is returning to MTV for a third season.

The ViacomCBS cable network renewed the dating competition, which is produced by SallyAnn Salsano’s 495 Productions.

The third run of the spinoff of Tila Tequila’s Shot at Love format will air later this year and again will star Jersey Shore’s DJ Pauly D and Vinny Guadagnino. Pauly found love with Nikki in Season 2, which aired last year, and now the pair are looking to hook his friend Vinny up.

The show is produced by Todd Radnitz, Dan Caster, Diana Morelli and Salsano.

This comes as Salsano has had a busy year, shooting a slew of shows during the pandemic, scoring her first Discovery+ order and moving into new non-scripted genres.

Salsano told Deadline that she’s been “amazed” by what the non-scripted community has been able to achieve during Covid.

Detective David Allard of the Beckley, West Virginia, Police Department confirms to Et that the 35-year-old reality star was pronounced dead at his West Virginia home by emergency personnel on Thursday afternoon.

According to Allard, drug paraphernalia and prescription medication was located in the home near McNeely's body. There is no indication of foul play, however, Allard says there were signs of illegal drug use. McNeely's body has been transported to the West Virginia Medical Examiner for autopsy.

McNeely was most famous for his 2007 appearance on Shot at Love With Tila Tequila. He also appeared in 2008's That's Amore.

Reality star Ashley McNeely has died at the age of 35, reports TMZ.

According to the outlet, McNeely, who previously starred on Tila Tequila‘s MTV show A Shot at Love, was found dead on Thursday in his hometown of Beckley, West Virginia, after police reportedly responded to an incident.

The circumstances surrounding his death are unclear.

Exactly two months after Power Rangers director Dean Israelite confirmed that the fan-favorite character Alpha 5 will return, Lionsgate has revealed who will voice this character. Though there were technically the usual three stories here, the polar bear expedition was really just an excuse to keep Holt and Rosa and Amy away from the hold-up so that Terry could take charge (and was wisely kept to the bare minimum amount of screen time necessary for Melissa Fumero to play Amy at her wimpiest), while Terry finally standing up to both Zeke and the Vulture(*) was tied completely to the "Die Hard" scenario playing out inside the store. Sure, Gary Busey won season 14 of "Celebrity Big Brother," but he wouldn't even have made it into the house without a talent agent who threw a Hail Mary ... so she says. Vie Marshall claims she was brought in to work as Gary's damage control after he missed a meeting with 'CBB' producers. Marshall says she smoothed things over with show execs, ultimately getting Busey on the British show last year -- but she never got a dime.

The Bill star finished at the bottom of the latest public vote against fellow contestant Bobby Davro, Gail Porter and the duo of Stevi Ritchie & Chloe-Jasmine.

Tila Tequila was ejected just one day into the competition over controversial social media posts, while Daniel Baldwin was evicted on day nine.

Judging by his post-eviction interview with Emma Willis, Chris's exit from Britain's most famous house came as a relief.

"I was slightly relieved. I got fed up and got so mad in there," he joked. "I thought I was losing my sanity some of the time.

"It was crazy arguments, just shouting and screaming. It got boring actually - it was very intense. It was just people talking very loudly.

Supermodel Janice Dickinson had a less-than-perfect moment on Tuesday’s episode of “Celebrity Big Brother,” when she collapsed after an apparent bee sting. What happened to Justin Bieber look-alike Toby Sheldon, who was found dead in a motel in Los Angeles, still remains a mystery, says a Los Angeles coroner.

"We are unsure if it is an accident or suicide," Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter tells People. "The investigation is ongoing."

The 35-year-old singer-songwriter, who also went by Tobias Strebel, was found dead at about 5 p.m. in a Motel 6 in North Hills on Aug. 21. He was reported missing by his boyfriend three days earlier. Officers found prescription drugs at the scene, but no cause of death has been determined. The case has been deferred pending toxicology results.

Zahra Schreiber is down for the count as far as the WWE is concerned. Schreiber, who had been a wrestler with the league’s developmental arm Nxt, has been cut from the WWE, after it was revealed that she posted an image of a swastika on her Instagram account.
