In addition to the new entry that was revealed in December, another classic Onimusha game is getting ready to return. Capcom revealed a remaster of Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny , which is set to arrive on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam sometime in 2025. The English version of the trailer is age-restricted, but you can see the Japanese version below. Onimusha 2 first launched on PlayStation 2 back in 2002, this time pitting new protagonist Jubei Yagyu against the demonic army of Nobunaga Oda. Jubei was modeled after real-life actor Yusaku Matsuda, known for TV series and action films, including 1978's The Most Dangerous Game and 1979's The Resurrection of Golden Wolf , among many others.

Capcom has a double whammy of news for Onimusha fans after the reveal of Onimusha: Way of the Sword back in December. Not only has Capcom released a new video message from producer Akihito Kadowaki and director Satoru Nihei regarding the upcoming game, but Capcom has also announced a remaster of Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
According to Kadokwaki, Capcom is focusing on three core aspects for Way of the Sword: Compelling characters, which includes a new protagonist and foes that are more than just visually interesting; the setting of Kyoto; and what’s being referred to as “the ultimate sword fighting action”.
