Buzz Mooney

Edit
  • During the course of his prop-making career, Buzz has had the opportunity to reproduce the still from M*A*S*H, not just once, but three times.
  • For "No Retreat From Destiny", a documentary about the Civil War battle of the Monocacy, fought less than ten miles from Buzz's home, in Frederick Maryland, Buzz and his then-wife Julie constructed a full-sized dead horse in their driveway. A well-meaning neighbor who drove by, called animal control, and told them that some poor family's horse had died, and they didn't have the means to properly dispose of it. Animal Control sent a truck out to check and left with a good story. Later, on set, the live horses steered well clear of the dummy.
  • As a result of his experiences making props for motion pictures, television, and stage, Buzz has developed an interest in old cameras and early scientific devices. He has a small collection of cameras from as early as the 1930s, and occasionally builds a scientific device a a hobby project, and for possible use in Living History presentations.
  • Buzz Mooney was good friends with Make-Up Artist/Make-Up Effects Artist/Producer Daniel H. Ingraham while they were both attending Montgomery Community College-Rockville Campus, in Rockville, Montgomery County, Maryland. They were often Fencing partners while taking a Fencing class in the spring semester of 1985, taught Mr./Coach Bicky.
