N. Kumar is a physics graduate and has started his journey in the Tamil film industry under renowned actor and film maker.
Mr. RadhaKrishnan Parthiban and had worked with him as Associate & Co Director. Ivan and Rain Inside the Umbrella ( Kudaikkul Mazhai )are few of the films. And He was the Associate Director of the critically acclaimed super hit Tamil movie Dheivath thirumagal directed by Vijay, starring Vikram n Anushka Shetty.
Have done screen play writing, discussion projects with, Cinematographers Nirav sha, Randy, Directors Vijay, I.Ahmed, G.B.Vijay, Bahubali writer Vijayendra Prasad & Dir. Vasanth S Sai.
His contributions were cherished and he played key part of Story discussion in many movies like... Ithu Enna Maayam, Thalaivaa, Vana Magan, Saivam, Devi 1 & 2, Lakshmi, Manithan, Kadhai-Thiraikadai-Vasanam- Iyakkam and internationally acclaimed movie, 'Oththa seruppu' (Single Slipper) . Jayalalitha's fictional bio-pic 'Thalaivi' & the world's first non-linear single shot feature film, 'Iravin Nizhal' (the shadow of the night) with AR Rahman Musical.
As a Director - He has directed several corporate and documentary film projects in his own production company, Prathishta Media Creations. (Clients : Isha Foundation, Universal Peace Foundation, Mac Controls, Manchester International School & Vedhathri Maharishi's SKY yoga foundation.)
As Creative Consultant & Writer - He has written concepts, scenarios, dialogues n lyrics for more than 300 TVC projects, for top Ad.agencies & Ad.film makers.
(Creative Writer, lyricist for all the productions of Eskimo Film Factory, Chennai.) and N Kumar makes regular visits to schools and colleges across Tamil Nadu, amidst children and students as a guest speaker.
Conducted Film Writing & Direction seminar for viscom students@ M.O.P. Vaishanava Women's College, Chennai & Dr.G.R.D.Arts and Science College, Coimbatore.
Being a humanitarian, he has conducted Blood Donation Camps for the past 10 years consecutively and has donated a staggering total of 1000 Units of blood through his camps & has been awarded for his deeds (Himself as emergency donar ('O'-ve) has donated for 33 times).
Outside of films, N Kumar is an ardent lover of music and literature. (As a singer, he has sung in few projects and albums too.)
Had played a paramount role in the inception of Dir. RadhaKrishnan Parthiban's ' KirukkalagaL' book and was awarded for the same by Dr M Karunanidhi who was the Chief Minister then.
N Kumar has reached out to children and childlike hearts across the Tamil speaking world through his audio series Kadhai Vaanam (Sky with stories) and kept them engaged with nourishing thoughts during the Corona lock down times.
His first Tamil literature (essays) in the title of Kaalamae Bodhi Maram ( Time - The Bodhi Tree) recently got published as a book and getting huge response & got the prestigious Padaippu Ilakkiya Virudhu best essay compilation literature award for 2024.
His Tamil Poetry Book, Kaliru Nadai ( The Elephant Walk) is going to be released in February 2025.
He touched all over the Tamil speaking world through his voice track audio weekly series, Pattaampoochchi Paesudhu ( The butterfly speaks), Kaadhal Kaadhalaik kaadhalikkiradhu ( Love loves love) & Endraan Avan (As he says) and now doing Sollanumnu thonichu ( I felt like saying ) in the popular writer & cartoonist Mr. Madhan's digital weekly tamil magazine, Vikatakavi.
As a Director, N Kumar is doing screen-play for a Hindi Movie, under production and currently involved in story discussion and screen-play writing for well known directors projects and on the pre-production and production works of his Maiden Directorial Tamil Feature Film.
