Philip Smith's work has been recognized by awards and explored a wide variety of subjects. It includes two films for Amazon as part of the Prime Video premium event series This Is Football; the dramatized documentary Frankenstein and The Vampyre and Superfly - a highly individual account of a century of genetics, which received an RTS Award. Other notable work includes two films in the BAFTA and Royal Television Society winning series This is Modern Art; a documentary with the artist Damien Hirst and a factual drama about the struggle to build the Panama Canal - part of the BAFTA and RTS nominated BBC series Seven Wonders of The Industrial World.
