Matteo Simoni (1987) is a versatile actor and one of Belgium's most sought-after talents. He has demonstrated his range and depth in some of the country's most successful TV series, films, and theatre productions. He is the recipient of multiple awards and was selected by the Berlinale Film Festival in 2018 as a Shooting Star, one of Europe's ten most promising young actors. In 2023, he won Belgium's 'Academy Award', the Ensor, for Best Supporting Actor.
Matteo has played leading roles in numerous acclaimed Belgian productions, including the hit comedy Safety First (2013-2014), Callboys (2016-2019) - which attracted a record-breaking 38% of all television viewers each week - and box-office successes such as Zillion (Robin Pront, 2022), Wil (Tim Mielants, 2023), and Gangsta (2018) along with its sequel Gangstas (2025), both directed by Bad Boys 3 filmmakers Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah.
He recently completed filming Heysel 85, a true story about the Brussels stadium disaster - a tragedy that left a lasting mark on the football world, claimed the lives of 39 people, and injured hundreds more.
