Pachinko is a sweeping historical drama series created by Soo Hugh. Star Trek: Prodigy will continue flying: Paramount+ has renewed the animated kids’ series for Season 2, less than two weeks after the show debuted on Oct. 28.

The first season is currently releasing new episodes weekly on Thursdays through Nov. 18, after which it will resume with five more installments beginning Thursday, Jan. 6. (The 10-episode second half of Season 1 will unspool at a later date next year.)

Sarunas J. Jackson, a guest star on the first season of the Cristin Milioti and Billy Magnussen dramedy, has been promoted to series regular for Season 2, and the show has added Chris Diamantopoulos and Angela Lin as recurring with Paula Abdul joining as a guest star.

Jackson, best known for his role on HBO’s Insecure, plays Jay, a co-worker of Milioti’s Hazel from the Twin Sands bowling alley, with surprising new developments in Season 2.

Diamantopoulos, best known for his role in Silicon Valley and who most recently is starring in Netflix’s Red Notice and True Story, plays Hank Walsh, a debonair, zealous FBI agent tasked with uncovering the hidden truths of The Hub.

The arrival of a show like “Little America” is no accident. Each chapter of Apple TV Plus’ new anthology series centers on the journeys of immigrants and first-generation Americans who end up in the United States either by choice, necessity or some combination thereof. Apple has renewed its immigrant anthology series “Little America” for a second season before the first has even debuted.

The half-hour series hails from Lee Eisenberg and “The Big Sick” writers Kumail Nanjiani and Emily V. Gordon. It is based on true stories from Epic Magazine. It explores the funny, romantic, heartfelt, inspiring, and surprising stories of immigrants in America.

“Star Trek” alum Zachary Quinto is set to star in episode 4 of the first season titled “The Silence,” playing a character named Leonard. Apple has also revealed that Jearnest Corchado, John Ortiz, Angela Lin, Kai To, Sophia Xu, Shaun Toub, Shila Vosough Ommi, Eshan Inamdar, Priyanka Bose and Conphidance will all play parts in various episodes.

“The Office” alum Eisenberg is writing and executive producing the series along with Nanjiani and Gordon. Eisenberg serves as co-showrunner along with Sian Heder, while “Master of None” co-creator Alan Yang is also among the executive producers.

"Chinglish," David Henry Hwang's play about an American businessman coping with translation and romantic problems in China, will close on Jan. 29, the producers announced on Monday. The play, which previously ran at Chicago's Goodman Theatre, will have given 128 performances at the Longacre Theatre. Chinglish is the word coined for those humorously bad Chinese-to-English mistranslations found on signs, in electronics manuals, etc. That sort of thing is hardly exclusive to China (there are plenty of examples from around the world here), but thanks to the first-world economic implosion, China is where the stakes are highest now. The new play by Chinese-American playwright David Henry Hwang (his first on Broadway in 13 years) is built around both this crucial transition and mistranslation.
