Shyam Maheshwari is a prominent writer and director in the Indian television and film industry. He began his career with Manthan for B4U and later joined Balaji Telefilms, where he directed popular shows such as Kuchh Jhuki Palkein in 2002 and Kahani Ghar Ghar Kii. During his television career, he also contributed to the iconic family drama Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, produced by Ekta Kapoor and her mother Shobha Kapoor. The show, centered around Tulsi Virani, the ideal daughter-in-law, featured a notable cast including Smriti Irani as Tulsi Mihir Virani, Dinesh Thakur as Govardhan Virani, Shakti Singh as Mansukh Govardhan Virani, Amar Upadhyay as Mihir Mansukh Virani, and Sudha Shivpuri as Amba Govardhan Virani.In 2010, Shyam Maheshwari directed the TV series Maati Ki Banno. Released on 30th September 2016, the film received widespread critical acclaim and commercial success. It featured Sushant Singh Rajput in the titular role of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, alongside Anupam Kher as Paan Singh Dhoni, Kiara Advani as Sakshi Singh Dhoni, Bhumika Chawla as Jayanti Gupta, Disha Patani as Priyanka Jha, Shantilal Mukherjee as Station Master Shishir Sarkar, and Kali Prasad Mukherjee as Animesh Kumar Ganguly.
