Aikatsu!, Pripara Anime Collab Movie Slated for This Fall

Aikatsu! and Pripara , two popular idol-themed franchises will collaborate to produce a theatrical anime feature film, titled Aikatsu! × Pripara The Movie -Deai no Kiseki!- . "Deai no Kiseki" in the title can be translated as The Miracle of Encounter or The Trajectory of Encounter . The original film featuring a new story and new live performances will release in Japan this fall. The film's official website and X (formerly Twitter) also opened today, releasing a teaser trailer and visual. Both feature Akari Ozora, the protagonist of the second half of the Aikatsu! Hello Kitty's Sanrio Sued by Anime Studio Over Kuromi Moral Rights Infringement

Sanrio, known for iconic mascot characters like Hello Kitty, Cinnamoroll and more, has been sued by anime company Studio Comet over moral rights infringement regarding Kuromi. Comet is known for anime series like Jewelpet, Initial D Season 1 (alongside Gallop), School Rumble and numerous others.

Daily Shincho reports that a dispute over Kuromi's copyright has erupted between Studio Comet and Sanrio, with the former arguing its moral rights were violated after Sanrio claimed someone else created the character. Moral rights refer to respecting the intent and integrity of the original work. Parties can agree not to exercise them but otherwise include the right to be credited for work done. Popular Anime Series ‘Gintama’ Returns with School-Based Spinoff in 2025
Gintama (2005)
The renowned anime franchise “Gintama” is making a much-anticipated return with a new spinoff series reimagining its main character, Gintoki Sakata, as a high school teacher. The announcement was made during Jump Festa ’25, stating that “Class 3-z’s Ginpachi-sensei” will be released in October 2025. This is the franchise’s first new content in more than three years.

Based on Tomohito Osaki’s spinoff novels, the series turns Gintoki into an unorthodox homeroom teacher. Fans may look forward to seeing familiar characters in student roles, including Kagura, Shinpachi, Kondo, Takasugi, and Hijikata.

Bandai Namco Pictures, which has worked on the franchise since its fourth season, will handle the animation production. The jobs keep rolling in for the Gintama crew, as the comedy series' Jump Festa 2025 stage event today revealed a teaser trailer for the upcoming 3rd Year Class Z Ginpachi-Sensei spin-off anime, which is slated to begin airing in October 2025 . 3rd Year Class Z Ginpachi-Sensei Teaser Trailer A Sakamoto Days parody illustration by Gintama author Hideaki Sorachi was also released. The X (formerly Twitter) account for the Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun series announced today that a fourth anime season is officially in production, alongside releasing a teaser visual for the announcement. No information on a release date, staff nor cast was announced at the time of reporting. Additionally, Crunchyroll is announcing today that it will stream the new season in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, Cis and India when it premieres in the future. The original manga by Osamu Nishi began serialization in Weekly Shonen Champion in 2017, with 39 volumes released in Japan to date, and volume 40 releasing in Japan on December 6. Kodansha USA releases the English version of the manga. Makoto Moriwaki directs each season of the anime at Bandai Namco Pictures with the first premiering in 2019, the second season in 2021 and the third season in 2022. "Dai Pripara-ten" ( The Great Pripara Exhibition ), a special exhibition looking back on the 10th anniversary of the Pripara franchise, is set to be held at the Shibuya Seibu B building's event space (B1F) from August 9 to 25, 2024. The event will also be held later in Fukuoka and Osaka, details to be revealed at a later date. An 80-second Pv for the exhibition is now online. This year marks the 10th anniversary since the amusement game and TV animation launched in Japan in July 2014.
