Zarelda de Bruin

Zarelda De Bruin, an 18-year-old actress, was raised in Durbanville, Western Cape. Her love for performing started at a young age when she danced and acted in all her primary school's plays. She caught the theatre bug when she was in middle school when she started with school theatre in grade 6 and participated in eisteddfods, going all the way to grade 10 (2023) when she played a lead role in one of Durbanville High School's drama productions. She received many awards at theatre festivals for Best Actress in a Leading Role. Her drama group also competed in the 2023 ATKV Tienertoneel competition where they ended up under the Top 10 teen productions in South Africa. In 2024, she booked her first professional role in the Showmax series, Spooksoeker. This is where she discovered her love for film acting and grew a new passion. While filming Spooksoeker, she still participated in school theatre where she played a supporting role for which she also received nominations for Best Actress in a Supporting Role. Zarelda loves working in the film industry to develop her acting skills, and knows to take every opportunity with both hands and to nurture it with care and compassion.
