The show deals with the simple idea of knowledge and how hard it is to kill human curiosity no matter how much those at the top use regulations to keep the population under control. Throughout its two seasons, the show’s pacing has been a popular topic of debate. Coupled with the dual storylines, a significant amount of viewers felt as though the deliberate pacing was detrimental.

Silo is a dystopian sci-fi series created by Graham Yost (Justified) based on a series of novels by Hugh Howey. The season 2 finale aired on January 17 and fans are eager to find something to fill the void until the third season airs on AppleTV+.

The series is set in a dystopian future and follows a community that resides in an underground silo. The group is ruled by a set of regulations implemented years ago that were believed to be established for their own protection, but everyone has been living like this for so long that the original reasons have been lost. It's been a quite a journey for Juliette Nichols (Rebecca Ferguson) and the rest of the characters on Apple TV+'s Silo, but at long last we've arrived at the season finale. In last week's penultimate episode, "The Safeguard," we finally learned the real identity of Juliette's companion Solo (Steve Zahn). Meanwhile, the conflict in Silo 18 reached a boiling point, while new It shadow Lukas Kyle (Avi Nash) made a discovery deep in the bowels of the structure. What information did Lukas get from his strange encounter? And will Juliette make it home in time to stop the people she loves from dying in a bloody rebellion?

Following the critically acclaimed debut of season 2, the streaming service announced that the hit sci-fi drama is officially renewed through season 4, with the fourth season slated to bring a thrilling end to Hugh Howey’s three-part, New York Times bestselling trilogy of dystopian novels.

Silo tells the post-apocalyptic story of the last 10,000 people on Earth. Their homes are silos built a mile deep underground to protect them from a toxic, deadly world outside. But here’s the thing: No one really knows if that’s the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, and they don't know when and why the silos were built. What they do know is that those who allow their curiosity to get the best of them and start digging for answers face fatal consequences.

"Into the Fire" was a powerful episode for Apple TV+'s post-apocalyptic science fiction series, featuring at least one major death as well as a violent clash for the fate of Silo 18. "Into the Fire" saw the rebellion in Silo 18 reach a breaking point, with the uprising storming the gate in an attempt to go outside in the belief that the surface world is actually beautiful and green, and that they've been lied to all their lives.

They're right about the lies, but not about the surface being habitable. At the last minute, Juliette Nichols (Rebecca Ferguson) returns and warns her friends that it isn't safe to go outside. As she goes to enter the silo, she has a final showdown with Mayor Bernard Holland (Tim Robbins), where they level with each other in a way they never have before. But then the door to the...

In the books on which the sci-fi thriller is based, Juliette Nichols' role is still important but presented somewhat differently. For instance, in the second novel, Shift, the character that Ferguson plays doesn't appear until the last part. That has caused some speculation about how much Ferguson will appear in the already-confirmed Silo season 3.

In comments to TVLine, Yost gave some spoilers about the Shift novel. Ever since the show introduced us to the Algorithm, there’s a question that has been bugging me constantly. Why the hell doesn’t the Algorithm make an appearance in Silo 17? I mean, the ninth episode of season 2 made it abundantly clear that it has its eyes and ears everywhere in the silo, even in the underground tunnel. And since it’s common knowledge that all silos are built in a similar way, then why isn’t there any hint of the Algorithm in Silo 17? Well, I have a theory, but I can’t discuss it without bringing up a few points from the second book of the Silo trilogy. In episode 9 of Silo season 2, the new It shadow, Lukas Kyle, finally solved the mystery centered around Salvador Quinn’s letter using Quinn’s copy of the Pact. But even though it was an achievement for the bright Lukas, Bernard Holland wasn’t happy with his findings, as he already knew most of the things Lukas had decoded so far. [Spoiler Alert] I am pretty sure that, being the head of It, he even knows about the hidden tunnel at the bottom of the metallic structure, which had been purposely erased from the altered blueprints of the silo. So, is that all? Was this the secret that Judge Mary Meadows and Salvador Quinn took to their graves? No, not actually. The tunnel is merely a deception. Because you see, Lukas can’t just open the tunnel and help Juliette Nichols return home, because her side of the tunnel is still flooded with water.

The cracks widen even further as Season 2 of Silo nears its end. When former engineer Juliette Nichols (Rebecca Ferguson) surprisingly survives the outside premises of Silo 18 seemingly unharmed, she has no idea that her stint has sparked serious chaos and commotion back in her home silo. With rebellions on the rise, tyrannical leader Bernard Holland (Tim Robbins) thought he had his pawns under control, but as his legions began to question his leadership, Holland wasn’t afraid to stoop even lower, resorting to more tactical and backstabbing approaches.
