Abigail Steinberg was born in Ottowa, ON, Canada. Her mother was a Canadian political writer and possesses a first-class degree from Oxford University. Her father was an Ambassador for the Canadian government. As a girl, Abigail lived in the Caribbean from ages nine to twelve.

With her family travels and an active imagination, she developed a cinematic eye and began making short films. Abigail graduated from Ryerson Polytechnical University. Upon graduation, Abigail completed, produced & directed four Award-winning films. In 1996, Bravo Television Network produced one of her most prominent films, Jules.

In 2003, Abigail moved to Los Angeles, California. As a commercial director, she produced and directed NFL Films including specific stadium content for the New York Giants Football Team, Jacksonville Jaguars and the Minnesota Vikings.

Meanwhile, a promotional packet for Jules caught the eye of rock star Billy Idol and they recorded an additional promotional audio version of the first episode.

In 2007, Abigail directed a 35mm short film entitled Laundry (V). The film was written by Terry Rossio Additionally that year, On the Lot creators Mark Burnett and Steven Spielberg picked Abigail to create a movie-in-a-week challenge. The result? The film Love Birds This secured her a spot in the top fifty. Respectively, DreamWorks signed Abigail to a two-year first look deal.

Abigail continued making films such as Circle Up Now, 99 Cent Bond and Killing Boyfriends. All three films earned awards at the Canada International Film Festival. In 2013, she married composer and writer/director Adam Edwards.
