Biography

    • Chaz got his start on the set of the Alan Rickman film 'The Search for John Gissing' in 2000 before working for Oscar-nominated producer Alison Owen (Elizabeth/Saving Mr Banks), followed by a role in the development team at Miramax Films. Moving to New Zealand in 2006, Chaz has since written, directed and produced the award-winning web series '101 Dates' and 'End of Term' featuring Thomasin McKenzie (Jojo Rabbit/Last Night in Soho), along with the short films 'The Shoe Box' and 'Broken Glass.'

      In 2016, Chaz co-founded Promised Land Tales with Adam Reynolds to create the internationally acclaimed LGBTQ children's books 'Promised Land,' 'Maiden Voyage' and 'Raven Wild.' The books attracted global media coverage and support from the likes of Sir Ian McKellen, George Takei and Becky Albertalli (Love, Simon). Chaz is also the author of acclaimed middle-grade fantasy novel 'Soulfire' and was Lead Producer and collaborating filmmaker on anthology feature film 'Encounters.' In 2020, Chaz co-wrote, co-directed and co-produced the sci-fi micro-short 'Parallax' and in 2022 wrote, directed and produced the psychological thriller short film 'You're Out.'

      Chaz's screenplay 'The Glassmaker' inspired by his short film 'Broken Glass' was a Finalist in the 2021 ScreenCraft Family Screenplay Competition. His screenplay 'Endurance' was a Quarterfinalist in the 2021 BlueCat Screenplay Competition and a Semifinalist in the 2021 ScreenCraft Sci-Fi & Fantasy Screenplay Competition.
