No action, no real results. He knows all the pressure points of the mind of a white supremacist to keep on pushing until empty words of hatred turn into vile actions of racism and violence.

There's nothing better than hearing a positive update from someone who opened up about their private health battles. Nearly five years ago, Jeff Bridges announced that he had been diagnosed with lymphoma, a blood cancer. The Academy Award winner also shared, about four years ago, that he was in remission. Now, Bridges has another update for supporters who were rooting for him along the way of his journey. The criminally underrated The Order did not gain as much attention as other titles released on the big screen in 2024. Last year provided moviegoers a number of critically acclaimed features across various genres, leaving the Justin Kurzel-directed crime thriller somewhat overshadowed. However, that doesn’t mean the film wasn’t a critical success, with a 92% Rotten Tomatoes score as of this writing. Now, the movie is bound to be introduced to a much wider audience this month. The Order — starringJude Lawand Nicholas Hoult — will be added to Hulu's extensive library starting April 18, 2025.

Few movies have earned the label "cult classic" like Tron. The 1982 Disney movie starred Jeff Bridges as Kevin Flynn, a computer programmer trying to prove a corrupt executive stole his prized video game programs.

The sinister Master Control Program manages to send Flynn into the computer world, where he battles it out on game grids and meets the heroic Tron (Bruce Boxleitner). What made the movie notable was the groundbreaking computer-animated effects for the light cycles and the computer world. 

The film was a mild success at the box office at the time. It truly found its audience when it hit home video and as video games became more successful, it attained a massive following. Not to mention, it's now seen as a pioneer for CGI, which has influenced scores of effects artists.

Dying for Sex is an upcoming comedy-drama series created by Elizabeth Meriwether and Kim Rosenstock. Based on the podcast series of the same name by Nikki Boyer, the FX series follows Molly, a middle-aged woman who is diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Soon after finding out that she doesn’t have much time to live, she ends her marriage of 15 years and tries to explore her sexuality.

Jared Leto’s sci-fi drama movie Mr. Nobody has finally received a streaming update, after more than a decade since its theatrical release. In the film, Leto plays Nemo Nobody, a 118-year-old man who becomes the last mortal on Earth.

Beginning on April 1, Mr. Nobody will officially start streaming on Max, along with its extended director’s cut. The film takes place in 2092, where humanity has attained immortality. The world watches as the last mortal human on Earth nears his death. With the help of a psychiatrist, he was able to remember parts of his life, while recalling three major points. As he continues to reflect, he also narrates alternate versions of the past.

During its theatrical run, the film garnered positive reviews from critics, who praised the performances of its cast, as well as its visual style. The movie currently holds a Tomatometer rating of 66% on Rotten Tomatoes. Mr. Nobody...

Deadline’s Read the Screenplay series highlighting the scripts behind the awards season’s buzziest films continues with The Order, Justin Kurzel’s period crime drama based on a chilling and timely true story. The screenplay was written by Oscar-nominated King Richard scribe Zach Baylin.

The film starring Jude Law, Nicholas Hoult, Tye Sheridan and Jurnee Smollett has been hitting the fall festival circuit beginning with its world premiere at Venice. It has since opened the Zurich and Marrakesh film festivals and hit theaters in limited release this past weekend via Vertical.

Baylin’s script, adapted from the book The Silent Brotherhood by Kevin Flynn and Gary Gerhardt, centers on a string of violent robberies and other crimes beginning in the early 1980s Pacific Northwest that the FBI, and specifically veteran agent Terry Husk (Law), figured out were being perpetrated by a white supremacist group plotting to overthrow the government.

Tye Sheridan isn't sure if he'll be back as Cyclops in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The actor, who portrayed the younger version of James Marsden's X-Men leader, recently cast doubt on his return during an interview to promote his new thriller The Order.

Sheridan addressed his possible return as Scott Summers/Cyclops in the MCU while speaking with Screen Rant, sharing, "I don't know. I don't think there's a question if there's more stories to tell. I think there's probably always more stories to tell. The question is whether audiences have a desire for those stories and whether we feel like those types of films have been oversaturated or they're not, or if there's a new way to make those films. But yeah, I'm not real sure."

What a disheartening reflection on our times that The Order ranks among the most relevant dramas of the last ten years. It shouldn’t. 2024 should not see us still struggling with the issues of white supremacy and armed extremist groups. Yet here we are.

The Order is based on the true story of Bob Mathews (Nicholas Hoult) and his followers, a violent neo-Nazi group responsible for a series of bank robberies, bombings, and murders in the 1980s. FBI Agent Terry Husk (two-time Oscar nominee Jude Law) is sent to the Pacific Northwest to investigate the Aryan Nation with little in the way of support. The local sheriff is willfully blind to the extensive presence of Nazis in his community and tries to blow off Agent Husk. But deputy sheriff Jamie Bowen steps forward, volunteering his help...

Twenty-five years later, Law’s latest performance as grizzled FBI agent Terry Husk in hardboiled ’80s actioner “The Order” is a departure: The actor not only masters an American accent, but he’s embodying a gun-wielding Western masculine archetype: rugged, angry, laconic, righteous. The Order is about hate, though not quite in the way you'd expect. It seems an obvious theme, given the story follows a white supremacist terrorist cell and the FBI's effort to stop them, and some space is given to the hateful doctrine they live by. But the movie is less interested in hate ideologically as it is in the feeling. And director Justin Kurzel is less interested in explaining that feeling than he is in observing it and its effects. Surround that goal with across-the-board quality, and you have a consistently tense crime thriller that leaves a lasting mark.

During the pandemic lockdown and in the frigid months of more recent years, many home viewers became hooked on “true crime” stories that were once the lifeblood of broadcast TV news “magazine” shows, but now have entire cable networks devoted to them. And the streaming apps are simply bursting with documentaries and “limited” series that are comprised of recreations and “talking head” interviews. While motion pictures had been the showcase for non-fiction law enforcement tales, recently we’ve seen more of the “over the top” “stunt-heavy” action blockbusters. Now, in between the year-end family fantasies and the somber “Oscar bait”, here’s a nifty thriller that evokes the feel of those zippy “B pictures”. Ah, but there’s a twist in that much of the story still resonates today, several decades later. Yes, on a cold day almost four years ago, the country was dealing with the legacy of The Order.
