Michael is a graduate of USC School of Theater and School of Cinematic Arts. He completed the professional training track at the Groundlings School of Improv and Sketch Comedy in Los Angeles. Michael made his professional acting debut in the independent film The Derby Stallion, opposite Zac Efron. He acted opposite Ezra Miller, Kate Bosworth, Thomas Haden Church and Demi Moore in Another Happy Day, a film he also produced. It was directed by Sam Levinson (Euphoria) and competed in the Dramatic Competition category at Sundance Film Festival, where it won the coveted Waldo Salt Award. Michael starred in Cassidy Way alongside Sydney Sweeney and has recurred on various television shows including My Name is Earl, CSI: New York, The Client List, The Mob Doctor, Revenge, Nashville, Hart of Dixie, and American Crime Story: The People VS OJ Simpson.
Michael produced and starred in the hit Netflix film Circle, which has gone on to have a cult following (a sequel is currently being written). He was nominated for three Emmys in 2020 for his work on the Amazon series Dark/Web, including Best Director.
Michael is a fitness enthusiast and adrenaline junkie. He has sky dived, bungee jumped, climbed a glacier in Patagonia, competed in Spartan and Tough Mudder races, and gone spelunking through caves hundreds of feet underneath New Zealand. Michael is an avid surfer, practices Muay Thai and kickboxing, is trained in firearms and firearm safety, and recently got his motorcycle license.
Michael is an avid gamer, film buff, and dog lover. He donates his time to Path: People Assisting the Homeless, and Create Now, which helps curate art programs for LA's runaways and underprivileged youth.
