You would think that the worlds of horror and professional wrestling would meet and make magical beautiful music together, wouldn’t you? Both are brash, bright, crazy and incredibly fun when they’re good. Sadly… both are bloody awful if done poorly. I’ve seen a few movies that have attempted to blend horror and wrestling and I’m yet to see one that has done it particularly well. So… is Parts Unknown, directed and written by Richard Chandler (Witch Hunt), a wrestling horror flick that manages to blend the two mediums into an entertaining film?

It’s a simple premise, as you’d expect, with a violent family of wrestlers (not sports entertainers) who look for another way to satisfy their lust for blood.

Professional Wrestlers Go Mad in Horror Film 'Parts Unknown' Trailer
Melantha Blackthorne, William DeCoff, Alexandra Cipolla, Ralph Regine, Richard Chandler, Alexander Hauck, Sarah Michelle, Stephen Cwiok, and Lizzie Havoc in Parts Unknown (2018)
"Now it's time to make one last sacrifice." Wild Eye Releasing has debuted an official Us trailer for an indie horror titled Parts Unknown, the latest from rural genre filmmaker Richard Chandler. After putting their bodies on the line for countless years, a family of professional wrestlers seek a brand new way to satisfy an impeccable bloodlust - by going on a spree of murder and carnage to satisfy their deal made with a demonic entity from another dimension. William DeCoff, Alexandra Cipolla, and Sarah Michelle star in this extremely low budget, extremely awful-looking, excessively violent horror film. I have to say it - this looks absolutely terrible in every possible way, not only pointless and unnecessary, but just brutal and wrong and shamefully un-amusing. But I guess they didn't make this for me. At least the trailer is totally free to watch. Here's the official trailer (+ poster) for Richard Chandler's Parts Unknown,...

Parts Unknown Trailer: Disgraced Wrestlers Go on a Murder Spree
Image
Wrestling horror movies are on their way to become a niche sub-genre. Just last week, we learned that WrestleMassacre was coming to DVD and Digital streaming this summer. Now, we have word that Parts Unknown will be here before the end of July, and it's sure to give WWE fans some thrills and excitement away from the now-empty wrestling arenas. Today, we have the first trailer and poster for Parts Unknown, and it promises to be a wild ride on the way to ring.

The summer movie season is all but dead. We're getting three movies this August, which include Tenet, Mulan and Bill and Ted Face the Music. Aside from that, horror fans have really had to scramble to find something new. WildEye releasing has been trying hard to fill the gap. And they're even responsible for dropping WrestleMassacre on our bloodthirsty heads. Now comes the perfect companion for...

Splatter Disco (DVD Review)
People's opinions of films are more often than not colored by their expectations. For example, I have a friend who is unable to enjoy From Dusk Till Dawn for the film that it is because he went to the theater expecting a film more like Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction. With that, the following should help people come to Splatter Disco with the proper expectations.

1. Despite the title, Splatter Disco is not particularly "splattery."

2. There's also no disco music, though a dance club (with a disco ball) features prominently in the film.

3. Though the DVD cover states that Splatter Disco is "The First Slasher Musical," writer/director Richard Griffin's description of the film as a "romantic, horror-comedy/Christmas musical" is probably more accurate.

While I am paraphrasing, I'm not kidding.

Across the blogosphere, people are constantly complaining about how recent horror films aren't "fun" like they used to be...
