British filmmaker Sean Cronin sinks his teeth once more into the horror genre with Bogieville, a southern gothic vampire tale that makes its UK digital debut today, courtesy of Reel 2 Reel Films. Following festival premieres at Cannes and FrightFest, the film is now available to audiences eager for a fresh injection of creature-feature dread.
Set deep in the sweltering American South, Bogieville follows a couple on the run who find themselves ensnared in far more than a case of bad timing. Ham, played by Arifin Putra (The Raid 2), and Jody, portrayed by Eloise Lovell Anderson (Villian), stumble into an abandoned trailer park seemingly frozen in decay. Lured in by its eerie caretaker Crawford (Jonathan Hansler), they are warned to remain inside after dark. Naturally, they don’t.

Bogieville Official Full-Length Trailer: "The highly anticipated southern-fried vampire road movie “Bogieville”, directed by acclaimed British filmmaker and actor Sean Cronin, releases today, June 3, 2025, in North America by Level 33 Entertainment and on June 13, 2025 in the UK via Trinity Creative Partnership, on VOD via Amazon, Apple TV and Fandango at Home, among other premium digital channels.
Written by screenwriter Henry P. Gravelle, “Bogieville” unfolds in a decaying American trailer park where a young couple, Ham and Jody, are enticed to stay by the unsettling caretaker, Crawford. What they don’t realize is that Crawford is the guardian of the park’s grotesque residents - a clan of feral, hillbilly vampires. The film stars Indonesian actor Arifin Putra (“The Raid 2”), Eloise Lovell Anderson, and Cronin himself as the lead vampire, Madison.
The ensemble also features Jonathan Hansler, Ayvianna Snow, Sarina Taylor (“Reckless”), Andrew Lee Potts, along with newcomers Poppie Jae Hughe and Daniel P. Lewis.

Bogieville opens with a stark, unflinching glimpse of vampire violence: a lone woman at a rural Georgia rest stop meets a brutal fate, her menstrual cycle triggering a ravenous attack. This low-budget horror, directed and co-written by Sean Cronin—who also portrays the alpha vampire Madison—centers on Ham (Arifin Putra) and Jody (Eloise Lovell Anderson), a young couple forced to leave their jobs and wander until they discover a dilapidated trailer park called Madison Farm Mobile Home Park.
Rechristened “Bogieville,” this compound of trailers serves as a haven for a family of ghoulish, blood-lusting vampires. Cronin establishes a grave tone that rarely wavers from grim seriousness, interrupted only by sudden bursts of gore. Visually, the film’s muted daytime scenes contrast sharply with shadowy interiors where sharp fangs glint under dim lighting.
The narrative evokes echoes of neo-Western vampire tales like Near Dark but remains resolute in its own aesthetic.

Director Sean Cronin also acts, but the real star is teenager Poppie Jae Hughes – which doesn’t say much for its more senior players
Something has definitely gone awry when the best acting in a film comes from a little kid playing a supporting vampire. In this case, it’s Poppie Jae Hughes, having the time of her life hissing and snarling, caked in makeup and rocking some evil looking prosthetic fangs. Perhaps Hughes outclasses the adults so easily because her role doesn’t require much in the way of dialogue. The rest of the cast are mostly British actors hamming it up with absurd sounding “southern” American accents that range widely across the territory below the Mason-Dixon line. Compelled to deliver way more dialogue than they can feasibly handle given their meagre performing skills, it’s not pretty.
Otherwise this is a cheap as chips but not unamusing farrago...

"You are welcome to use any weapons you find." Paramount Global Content has unveiled an official trailer for a trashy action movie called The Last Gunfight, the latest creation from stuntman-turned-filmmaker James Bamford. This looks like it should be avoided like most of his movies. He also stole the title from the classic 1960 Japanese film The Last Gunfight which starred Toshiro Mifune. However, in this new movie - in a ruthless underground tournament, the world's top assassins battle in a fight to the death. But hidden among them is a rogue crew with its own deadly agenda: infiltrate the competition, survive the bloodbath, and take down the mastermind pulling the strings. "It's for revenge, and a fortune worth killing for." What an original idea... The Last Gunfight features Jon Voight, Adam Woodward, Charlotte Vega, Eloise Lovell Anderson, Daniel Bernhardt, Brock Pierce, Shaina West, and Skyler Shaye. Why are they fighting...

Give me a break! Speed Dating The film debuts Saturday, December 10, 2022, on YouTube. The horrors of dating are vividly brought to life in the opening scenes of Jean-Paul Ly's short film. Utilizing a swirling camera, we are introduced to Emma (Eloise Lovell Anderson), who has unwillingly agreed to a night of 'speed dating,' only at the insistence of her best friend, Katy (Mia Foo). Sitting calmly at a table in a restaurant, Emma must endure a string of male losers who sit down opposite her and endeavor to engage her in conversation bragging about their imagined qualities. Really, they're offensely boorish, and, frankly, watching them made me feel embarrassed about my own identity. Things swiftly change when a stranger enters the restaurant, with...

A solid Brit gangster film more in the old-school vein of “Get Carter” and “Mona Lisa” than the dog-on-hind-legs Guy Ritchie idiom, Title notwithstanding, our protagonist is an upstanding kind of tough guy — but the criminal world isn’t about to let him go straight. Actor Philip Barantini’s first directorial feature is nothing wildly original in content or style. Still, it punches both elements across with a satisfying low-key confidence, and does not shrink from occasionally letting things get pretty rough. Saban is releasing to U.S. on demand and via digital platforms on May 22.
We meet fiftysomething Eddie Franks (Fairbrass) the day he’s getting out of the joint after a stint of unknown, presumably lengthy duration. It’s clear from the way he’s treated by both the staff and his fellow inmates that he’s respected, whether due to his intimidating qualities or finer ones — he’s wished well,...

"Who do you think you are, some kind of animal?" Saban Films has debuted the official Us trailer for an indie crime drama titled Villain, marking the feature directorial debut of filmmaker Philip Barantini. The story follows a former criminal just released from prison and his attempts to help his family by reconnecting with his daughter and clearing his brother's debt. Despite his efforts, he is drawn back into a criminal way of life, with devastating consequences. As as always when criminals get out, try to stay away from crime, then get sucked back in for "one more job" to settle the score that still ruins everything. Craig Fairbrass (from "EastEnders") stars, along with a big cast including George Russo, Izuka Hoyle, Mark Monero, Tomi May, Eloise Lovell Anderson, Taz Skylar, Nicholas Aaron, Michael John Treanor, Marcus Onilude, Robert Glenister. This looks pretty forgettable and repetitive, there's not much you're...
