Quick Links What Is Kin About? Who Does Michael B. Jordan Play in Kin? Kin Deserves a Sequel
One DC property fans will always be divided about when it comes to adaptations is Superman. Some didn't like that Henry Cavill's tenure as the Man of Steel was cut short. Others are waiting with bated breath over David Corenswet's Superman. However, there were even more different versions in the works.
Ta-Nahesi Coates and J.J. Abrams' Superman project got stuck in the mud, while another project that reportedly would have featured Michael B. Jordan playing Val-Zod also faded away. Interestingly, Jordan was already involved in a Superman-like adventure back in 2018. This was none other than the underrated sci-fi action movie, Kin -- a captivating tapestry about loyalty, family and resilience. It may not have achieved its potential, but it does deserve a sequel.

Exclusive: After wrapping production on his suspenseful romance Fate, starring Faye Dunaway, Harvey Keitel and Andrew McCarthy — a film currently in search of domestic distribution — director Jonathan Baker is gearing up for production in 2025 on Icon, which will be his final film.
Blending American immigration history with rock and roll, the film is about a soul that moves through a hundred years until it reaches its destiny as a rock star, using one family’s saga through immigration and musical history as its backdrop. Baker wrote the script with his Fate collaborator Michael Buhlman, with production to kick off in 2025. He’s also expected to produce for his Baker Entertainment Group.
“I’ve waited my entire life to share this story,” Baker told Deadline. “This narrative of Icon is crucial to America, highlighting the significance of immigration and how it shaped our nation. Our past is integral to our identity.

The film will toggle between a yesteryear version of the character (Montgomery) and a present-day incarnation (Dunaway), spanning much of the protagonist’s entire lifetime. “Fate” revolves around a firefighter (Brandon Routh) who connects with a stranger from the past Tilly (Montgomery) while he’s healing at a rehabilitation center and is transported through time to find the only thing saving his soul — his realization of true love, according to a producer’s logline.
Highland Film Group is selling rights to the $10 million film, which also stars Harvey Keitel, at the Cannes Marche.
Dunaway is on the ground in Cannes, where HBO screened the much-anticipated biographical documentary “Faye.”
Montgomery was cast out of hundreds of actors vying for the role.

The Amazing Race season 6 is consistently ranked as one of the worst seasons in history. It doesn't help that it aired only two months after the season prior and a month before the following season, which were both highly rated. The Amazing Race 6 visited seven countries, including Ethiopia and Sri Lanka, and gave the series one of its most memorable challenges when teams unrolled bales of hay in Sweden to find a clue. Sisters Lena and Kristy Jensen spent over eight hours attempting to find one before being eliminated on the spot by the host, Phil Keoghan.
Even with new locales and memorable moments, The Amazing Race 6 is marred by a dull race map, bad casting choices, and unsavory moments. The Amazing Race began with three European legs, followed by one leg in Senegal, then returning to Europe for three more legs. There were very few The Amazing Race 6 teams...

Jonathan Baker claims Randall Emmett told him if he agreed to co-finance and produce Inconceivable he'd return the favor by co-financing and producing a film of Baker's choosing.
Almost immediately after the funds were deposited, Baker claims, defendants paid themselves $650,000 more in producer fees than was agreed upon and failed to disclose the payment. Baker also claims defendants breached their deal by accepting additional financing from third parties and allowing those parties to be repaid first.

No less than two Oscar winners are hopelessly adrift in Jonathan Baker’s low-rent thriller that feels so much like a parody of a Lifetime television movie it should have starred Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig. Indeed, this film feels so similar to the 2015 spoof A Deadly Adoption that featured those comic performers that it’s hard to know where one ends and the other begins. In any case, the aptly titled Inconceivable is something that both Nicolas Cage and Faye Dunaway will want to leave off their filmographies, and at this point that’s saying something.

Reilly) brings on new hired hand Massetto (Dave Franco), a virile young servant forced into hiding by his angry lord. Inconceivable Release Details: Press Release: "Los Angeles, June 22, 2017 -- As its June 30 theatrical and digital release approaches, actor/director/producer Jonathan Baker reflects on the theme of his film, which, safe to say, is an entertaining thriller with a cautionary message: if you’re thinking about IVF, surrogate motherhood or even just hiring a child minder, be careful. Rather like Jaws’ tagline, “You’ll never go in the water again,” after seeing Inconceivable, you just might want to think twice before leaving your child alone with a stranger, even as attractive and seductive one as Inconceivable star Nicky Whelan.
Baker cites nanny, surrogacy and IVF programs gone wrong when he talks about why he chose to do the film. “The movie is about a couple and their journey though In Vitro Fertilization (IVF), surrogate motherhood and a vindictive nanny. IVF is a topic that can be taboo, even in the USA. In addition to entertaining the audience, I wanted to shed light on this subject—which affects so many couples—in an open forum to help dispel the secrecy and even shame surrounding this topic. The film provides the space for a real problem to play out (in an admittedly extreme way) in a fictional world. There are many people who want children that need the help, and this film strings viewers along for their struggle, but in a very different, arguably darker, way.”
“While the film at first focuses on IVF, the focus naturally dips into surrogate motherhood as it becomes the route used to solve the couple [played by Nicolas Cage and Gina Gershon]’s infertility,” Baker continues. “But is the surrogate mother potentially signing her unborn child’s life away? For the average couple, surrogacy does not connect with losing a child; however this thriller is all about exploring that fear. Allowing a stranger into your world can be frightening in itself, but such vulnerability is amplified with surrogacy. The film proves that IVF and surrogacy can create a dangerous cocktail of tension, paranoia, and fear that can destroy a family.”
Deception doesn’t always come from where you expect it to; sometimes it comes from your most trusted nanny as seen with Inconceivable. When a stranger is in the home, it is natural to fear something might go wrong. Such incidents have been widely broadcast in cases such as with Gwen Stefani, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Balthazar Getty, among others. Isn’t it weird that we trust strangers with our most prized possessions: children? I wanted to combine these topics to bring these fears to the screen, because fear is what gets people talking. Through discussion, society can better address such topics.
Overall, my goal for this film was to make something that matters and really hits home with people. Infertility is a harsh reality for many prospective parents, and I wanted to help contribute to such an important dialogue as this. I want my movie to bring the topics out of hiding and into open discussion. That’s why ‘deception hits home’ is such a fraught tag line for the movie.”
Starring Nic Cage, Gina Gershon, Faye Dunaway and Nicky Whelan and co-starring Eva Marie and Jonathan Baker, Lionsgate Premiere is releasing Inconceivable June 30."

"The last thing I want is for her to question either one of us." Lionsgate Premiere has debuted an official trailer for a film titled Inconceivable, the latest paycheck feature for Nicolas Cage. This miserable-looking family drama is about a small family with one child who invites a mysterious, beautiful single mom to be their nanny. She joins their family and begins a new relationship with them, but it doesn't take long for them to discover she is actually trying to destroy their family from within. Nicolas Cage stars, along with Gina Gershon, Nicky Whelan, Faye Dunaway, Natalie Eva Marie, and James Van Patten. This looks as terrible as it sounds, without any redeeming qualities. Plus it just feels like an even-worse knock off of Unforgettable. Please stop making these kind of movies. We really don't need any more wasting screens. Some people say macho man, we just say Mark Wahlberg.
If the mere sight of his bulging biceps didn't already tip you off, the actor showed off his incredible strength on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Thursday when he was challenged to do pull-ups to help raise money for charity.
DeGeneres explained that for every pull-up he did, $1,000 would be donated to aid in breast-cancer awareness.
Before starting, Wahlberg announced that his goal was to do two pull-ups, but hoped to reach five. But as soon as he stepped up to the bar, it was clear the actor was just being modest.

Tonight's episode, kicked off with Kaitlyn going outside to confront Kupah for yelling at the camera man like a freaking lunatic. She basically told him, nothing will change, and to just get the hell out of here. So, off he went. Shortly after that, Kaitlyn finished up the rose ceremony that was supposed to take place in the last freaking episode. Everyone got a rose except for poor Daniel Finney and Corey Shivar. From there, Kaitlyn took: Jj, Chris, Clint, Shawn B., Joe, and Tony on a group date to do some Sumo wrestling at Universal City Walk. The world champion sumo wrestlers showed up to give the fellas some pointers before they had to battle each other. At one point , Tony flipped his wig and told Kaitlyn he doesn't like all these violent group dates she prepares for them, because he's just all about the love and caring stuff.

Recently, our trusty source, Reality Steve, delivered new, very revealing spoilers for the upcoming "The Bachelorette 2015" episode 4, and it turns out that we're going to see some very interesting stuff as another guy up and leaves the show. Kaitlyn has to early boot another guy, and more! In the, 4th, new episode, Kaitlyn is going to take: Jj, Chris, Clint, Shawn B., Joe, and Tony out on a group date and hit up the Sumo wrestling at Universal City Walk. The world champion sumo wrestlers are going to show up at the mansion in the early morning to demonstrate with the guys before the date. Since Tony is very anti-violence, and not happy with the fighting, he will refuse to participate in this date. Then he is going to eventually tell Kaitlyn he's ditching her. It's speculated that he tore his Acl or something. Shawn Booth will receive the early group date rose.

Kris Jenner and Ben Flajnik have been claiming that they’re just friends, but the sexual tension between them was palpable during Kris’ visit to Ben’s winery on the Jan. 20 season premiere of ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians.’ Do you think they’re headed for romance?
Kris Jenner might not be willing to come right out and admit that she’s got the hots for Bachelor alum Ben Flajnik but she hinted at it pretty heavily when she and family friend Jonathan Cheban spent the day at Ben’s winery in Sonoma, Calif. Kris, who had recently separated from ex Bruce Jenner before the winery visit, had stars in her eyes when she told Ben that she’d “fallen in love with Sonoma” — could it be she was falling for Ben too?

I had a hunch that Cooties (read here) and Adam Wingard’s The Guest (read here) might make it into what appears to be a line-up of eight (there might be some wiggle one for one last minute inclusion), but this year’s section flaunts a more international palate with the latest from Norway’s Tommy Wirkola (sequel to Dead Snow – which showed at the fest in 2009) reps Europe, Taika Waititi & Jemaine Clement return to the fest they broke out of with Eagle Vs. Shark but with a mockumentary (What We Do in the Shadows) that might compliment the inclusion of Jim Jarmusch’s latest. Oceania gets further representation with Jennifer Kent’s The Babadook and from Asia, the program assures some blood splatter with The Mo Brothers’ Killers. William Eubank arrives with a title that might sound familiar for those who hit the fest in 2007, but this version of...

The Brothers Wahlberg will be serving up hamburgers in a new unscripted show on A&E named after Wahlburgers, the Boston-area burger joint they co-own. The show is set to premiere on January 22nd at 10:30 p.m., according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Walburgers and Other Restaurants Run by Rock Stars
Mark, Donnie and their brother Paul cofounded Wahlbergers in 2011, when they opened the restaurant's first location in Hingham, Massachusetts. It was the brothers' second venture into eateries, following Alma Nove, an Italian restaurant. Paul serves as the chef at both restaurants.

Careful Kimmy! During a Kardashian family yard sale on Nov. 10, the reality star wasn’t looking where she was going and tripped over a few for sale items. Ouch!
We always say that when you’re wearing heels at a garage sale you have to be careful where you step. Well actually, we’ve never said that — but we will now after Kim Kardashian fell hard on her butt during a family yard sale on Nov. 10!

Is Kris Jenner keeping up with a new paramour? Rumors have swirled that the newly single Kardashian matriarch, who recently split with Bruce Jenner, is dating Bachelor star Ben Flajnik after the two were spotted together multiple times. But the 30-year-old Flajnik, who is 27 years Jenner's junior, is having none of that: He spoke to People to set the record straight. "Kris is a very, very dear friend of mine," said Flajnik, who lunched with Jenner Friday at Barney's in Beverly Hills. "We are not dating, we're just working on a couple of projects together, so that's why we've been...
