Smeep Kang’s directorial was released in theatres on May 30, 2025. It opened to mixed reviews, garnering a rating of 6.2 on IMDb. As per Sacnilk, Saunkan Saunkanay 2 garnered 11 lakhs on day 22. It witnessed a 27% decrease compared to 15 lakhs earned on the previous day.

Sargun Mehta’s film is facing competition from two new releases in Pollywood – Dakuaan Da Munda 3 and Pind Peya Saara Jombieland Baneya. The overall net collections in India stand at 17.46 crore net in 22 days. Including taxes, the gross total concludes at 20.60 crores.

Mumbai, April 8 (Ians) The makers of ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’, on Monday, shared a new promo of the show, welcoming the cast of the upcoming movie ‘Amar Singh Chamkila’.

The show is hosted by stand-up comedian Kapil Sharma and will air on Netflix on Saturday at 8 a.m.

The video shared on social media, featuring Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra, along with director Imtiaz Ali, begins with Kapil saying: “Give a big round of applause for Diljit, Parineeti and Imtiaz Ali.”

Referring to Parineeti’s husband and Aam Aadmi Party MP Raghav Chadha, Kapil said: “Raghav rajneeti karte karte, Parineeti Parineeti kabse karne lag gaye?”

The video also featured Diljit singing a song and there is a glimpse of whisper challenge between the guests.

In addition to this, Imitiaz is seen saying: “Punjabis usually are in the mood in the evenings.” To which Diljit replied: “Usually people are in the mood in the evenings.

Indonesia’s Balinale International Film Festival (Oct 4-10) has handed out the top prizes at its closing awards ceremony.

Ifa Isfansyah’s 9 Summers 10 Autumns was awarded best overall film. Based on an autobiography, it is the story of a poor minibus driver in East Java who grew up to become a multinational company director in New York.

Endri Pelita’s Air Mata Terakhir Bunda, about a single mother’s influence on her two sons, won best feature.

Taiwanese entry Go Grandriders, directed by Hua Tien-hao, won best documentary while New Zealand filmmaker Paora Joseph’s Tatarakihi: The Children Of Parihaka received a special recognition prize.

Brazilian filmmaker Amir Admoni’s Linear won best short.

Dev Anand Passes Away
Actors can come and go but very few manage to paint a career to span over 6 decades. Yesterday the world was forced to say goodbye to such a legend and the film industry left a little empty with the passing of the great Dev Anand,who despite being 88 years of age was loved for his ever youthful personality. The ‘Evergreen Romantic Superstar’ passed away during the night in London following a cardiac arrest. His son Suneil stayed by his father’s bedside throughout the night. It is understood that he had attended a medical check up in London as a result of continuos ill health over the past few days.

4th International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerala announces competition titles
The 4th International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerala has announced the films in competition. These films have been selected out of the 625 entries the festival received.

The 2011 edition of the festival will take place from July 31-August 4, 2011 in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.

The list of films in the International and the Non-competitive sections will be announced this week.

The festival is organised by the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy, for the Department of Cultural Affairs, Government of Kerala.
