In our second article to synopsize on of our tributes, we take a look at the movies we managed to review as part of our tribute to Tamil cinema, in chronological order

Although it is now seen as one of the pioneering works of the South Indian New Wave, “Donkey in a Brahmin Village” was banned in Tamil Nadu in order to preserve the fragile sentiments of the Brahmin community who were unwilling to be presented with evidence of their own crimes. Fortunately, time has proven that Abraham’s work is a vital piece of cinematic genius. He combines flashes of surrealism and mythological meditations to rightly indict those who have used their privilege to oppress and destroy, burning all of us in the flames of revolution. KollywoodInterestingly, Dhanush shares the screen space with Sneha in this film and they are working together after a gap of 13 years. Digital NativeDhanush had recently completed the first schedule of his upcoming film in Kutralam and will be moving over to the second schedule. The film is being directed by Durai Senthilkumar. KollywoodThe award-winning actor had said story discussions for 'Pudhupettai 2' were on and details will be revealed later.Digital NativeOne of the landmark films in Dhanush-Selvaraghavan’s career will be Pudhupettai, which was released in 2006. Since then, the fans of both the star as well as the director have been waiting for a sequel to it. When Selvaraghavan was asked about it in an event, he refused to answer. Much later, some fans got an opportunity to ask Dhanush about the sequel to which he had replied that it is very much on cards. Story discussions for Pudhupettai 2 are on and details will be revealed later, the award-winning actor had said. Pudhupettai was a gangster flick that was written and directed by Selvaraghavan. The film has Sonia Agarwal and Sneha playing the female leads. Yuvan Shankar Raja composed some chart busting numbers for this film with cinematography handled by Selvaraghavan and Kola Bhaskar editing it.

Chennai, March 15: Actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan will feature in a dual role in upcoming Tamil comedy "Uttama Villain". He will play an eighth century drama actor and a 21st century cinema superstar.
"Kamal will be seen as Uttaman, an 8th century and drama actor and Manoranjan, a 21st century cinema superstar. Andrea Jeremiah will be paired with Manoranjan while Pooja Kumar will play emotionally disturbed princess to Uttaman," read a statement.
The film, which is being directed by Ramesh Arvind, also features K. Vishwanath, K. Balachander, Jayaraman, Parvathi Menon, Oorvasi and M.S Bhaskar.
