5X Media Signs Wealth Of Digital Creatives

Exclusive: 5X Media has signed a wealth of digital talent as the management company and production house’s roster continues to expand.

Under producer-manager Michael Morriatti, 5X has in the past few weeks signed digital creatives Eliana Ghen, James Hoyles, Reza Jackson, Roxy star Mallory Pruitt, actress Lindsey Kroning and actor-model Presley Walker. 5X has also snapped up Mia Mastrov, a fashion model, actress, digital creator and former member of the Uc Berkeley women’s basketball team.

Between them, 5X said the new signings have nearly 36 million followers across social platforms. Ghen alone has 10 million TikTok followers.

5X has been busy snapping up digital talent since launching last year. Others include Makrand Deshpande (Monkey Man), social media influencer Rami Zeinn , Come Closer star Darya Rosenn, Anora actor Luna Sofia Miranda and Lake George director Hamid Castro.

5XMedia Hires Former Keshet Exec Limor Gott Ronen As Partner

Exclusive: Former Keshet International SVP Limor Gott Ronen has reunited with Alon Shrutzman at 5XMedia.

Gott Ronen has joined the management company and production house as partner/producer, working alongside 5X partner Ryan Lindenberg, the former Berlanti Productions exec who joined in June, to add to 5X’s scripted and premium docs slate. She will also continue to separately develop and produce projects she already has in the pipeline.

Between 2012 and 2021, Gott Ronen was SVP at the international arm of Israeli broadcaster Keshet, working under Shtruzman, who became Co-CEO of 5X alongside Gil Goldschien earlier this year. The pair were among the key players who established Keshet International as a major player by making Rising Star one of the biggest selling formats in the world and selling several scripted titles for adaptation in the U.S., including Prisoners of War, which became Showtime’s Homeland.

Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) has announced five features that will receive their world premieres at the upcoming festival in September, including Ron Howard’s survival thriller Eden and We Live In Time starring Florence Pugh and Andrew Garfield.

The roster includes Anderson .Paak’s dramatic comedy K-pops based on his life; Sophie Deraspe’s Shepherds, about a young advertising executive who trades in his Montreal life to become a shepherd in France; and Reema Kagti’s Superboys Of Malegaon based on the life of Nasir Shaikh, an amateur filmmaker from India, which looks at what happens when filmmaking and friendships collide.

5X Media to open European hub run by Madrid-based Michael Kaufman

Film and television producer, management and sales company 5X Media has hired Madrid-based producer-manager Michael Kaufman to build and run its first European outpost.

Kaufman brings more than 20 years of experience working in Spain, the United States, China, Ireland, Argentina and Israel and will operate out of Madrid.

He recently had a first-look deal with Moonrise Pictures working on a range of US projects with writers-directors like Tessa Blake, Liz Benjamins, J. Todd Harris, and The Lehrer Boys with companies such as Mmc Studios, Creativity Capital, and Paramount Pictures/Jerry Bruckheimer.

5X Media Opens European Hub With Former ‘Queer Eye’ Producer Michael Kaufman

Scott Einbinder’s 5X Media has set its sights on Europe and is tying with ex-Queer Eye and Wife Swap producer Michael Kaufman.

The nascent studio, which is run by Alon Shtruzman and Gil Goldschein, will open in Madrid under Kaufman’s leadership. Among the clients entering the 5X fold with Kaufman are Spain-based Argentinian writer/showrunner Juan Carballo (Netflix’s El Amor Después Del Amor), producer/showrunner Anne Clements (The Kill Room), writers the Lehrer Brothers (Tubi’s The Freak Brothers), producer/writer/director Paul Kampf and 2Team Productions (Come Closer). Clements and Kampf are in production on Undercard, which stars Wanda Sykes and is shooting in Puerto Rico, as well as Harvest, starring Matthew McNulty and Angus Macfadyen and filming in Serbia.

The stars of Monty Python have announced a press conference this Thursday amid rumours of a reunion. They last worked as a team back in 1983, on the film The Meaning of Life. The Sun reports that the five surviving Pythons (John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Terry Jones, Eric Idle and Michael Palin) have spent months in "secret talks". Previous rumoured projects have come to nothing, with Idle once joking: "We would only do a reunion if [Graham] Chapman came back from the dead. So we're negotiating with his agent." The press conference is scheduled for midday 21 November at London's Playhouse Theatre.
