Michael T. Scafidi
- Actor
- Editor
- Director
Perhaps the magic started when Michael's mom was pointing at a Life cereal commercial on TV, interjecting to my father "that's his name!"; while she was being wheeled off to the delivery room. Michael began directing in college as a part of his theatre comprehensive curriculum at Western Illinois University. After trying his feet in NYC, he moved closer to family in Chicago and became an ensemble member with Greta Mae Productions. He was asked to produce and direct benefit shows to fund upcoming theatre productions. Feeling more confident with his experience directing, he had an opportunity to return to academia and directed three children's shows at Improv Playhouse: Annie, Sleeping Beauty & Alice and Wonderland. He went on to receive an education at the Second City Conservatory in Chicago, where he began to direct, produce and edit film shorts subject to audience suggestion. The pandemic offered some isolated time to gear up on film editing classes at Arizona State University where he learned Adobe Premiere Pro. Many zoom classes followed at the Hollywood Winner's Circle where everything about the business and how to market yourself as an actor was on the table for discussion. Acting Training and Film Production education were bestowed by the Actor's in Action Conservatory. Every facade of technical training from independent production, acting techniques, script analysis and grit were instilled at the conservatory.
