The Last Of US Star Bella Ramsey Wants To Play Spider-man: "They Need To Make A New [Superhero] For Me"
Image
Coming off their acclaimed turn as Ellie in the second season of HBO's The Last of Us, we have heard from a couple of different sources that Bella Ramsey is being eyed for a Marvel Studios role.

Whether this means that Ramsey has actually taken a meeting with the studio or is simply on their radar is not clear, but the actor wasn't about to confirm anything when asked about the rumors and whether they had any interest in following Pedro Pascal into the MCU at HBO Max Nominee Celebration Day.

“I don’t know about that,” Ramsey responded. “I could be Spider-Man. Tom Holland did a great job though. So maybe they do need to make a new [superhero] for me.”

Ramsey was clearly joking around, and actually hasn't seen that many Marvel films. In fact, they only recently watched their first: One of Andrew Garfield's The Amazing Spider-Man movies.

The Last Of Us Cast Salary: Pedro Pascal’s Total Earnings Is 9X More Than Bella Ramsey — How Much Did Others Earn?
Image
How Much Did The Last Of Us Cast Earn? (Photo Credit – Instagram)

HBO’s The Last of Us is undoubtedly one of the most acclaimed shows in recent years. After wrecking the viewers’ emotional well-being with season 1, the series returned with another season on HBO in April 2025.

Based on the popular video game of the same name, the show is led by Pedro Pascal, who plays Joel, and Bella Ramsey, who plays Ellie. Although the second season received mixed reviews from audiences and critics and didn’t create the impact like the first, it resonated with many viewers.

Pascal’s fatherly emotions escalated even further in this series, while Ramsey brought sass and an emotional quotient. While people enjoyed the storyline of a survival drama in the first season, in the second, the plot shows their story years later and delves deeper into the characters. But do you know how...

The Last Of Us Season 2 Set Photos Confirm HBO Cut A Key Moment From The Games
Image
Adapting a story from one medium to another is as much about what you keep from the source material as what you don't. Especially when coming from the world of video games, where stories unfold over dozens of hours and rarely cut away from their central character, bringing that world to life in the much tighter confines of a TV show is all about finding what moments from your source material are essential and which can be modified or left behind entirely.

Enter: HBO's "The Last of Us," which has been notable for its slavish devotion to recreating the original game on the small screen. Not only has the creative team brought pivotal story beats to life word-for-word and sometimes even shot for shot, but they've also brought back actors Merle Dandridge and Jeffrey Wright from the games to reprise their characters on the show. They've even kept the controversial...

Rumor: The Last Of US Star Bella Ramsey Eyed For A "Big Marvel Role"
Image
Coming off their acclaimed turn as Ellie in the second season of HBO's The Last of Us, Bella Ramsey is reportedly being eyed for a Marvel Studios role.

Though this should only be viewed as a rumor for the time being, scooper Mttsh is claiming that Marvel is interested in signing Ramsey for a "big role" in an upcoming project. This obviously covers a lot of ground and even more potential characters, and it's entirely possible that Kevin Feige and co. simply have the highly in-demand actor on their radar.

Ramsey might well have taken a meeting (or two), but Marvel meets with a lot of talent, often without any specific role in mind.

That said, there are some major MCU movies on the horizon, and  - assuming this is accurate - we can't help but wonder if Ramsey might be in line for a role in the upcoming X-Men reboot.

The Last Of Us Creator Confirms Whether The Fireflies Could Have Made A Cure
Image
At the end of the inaugural season of "The Last of Us," Joel Miller, the series protagonist played by Pedro Pascal, faces a truly impossible choice. After successfully escorting a young girl named Ellie (Bella Ramsey) across the post-apocalyptic United States, Joel meets up with his old friend Marlene, who asked him to transport Ellie in the first place, and gets some pretty rough news. Turns out that the reason Ellie needed to get to Salt Lake City from Boston safely is that the Fireflies located in Utah are planning to operate on her brain, seeing as she's immune to the cordyceps virus ... and as Marlene tells Joel, she won't survive the surgery.

Nobody tells Ellie this before she goes under the proverbial knife, but knowing her, she'd sacrifice her life to find a cure — which is what the doctors intend to do. Joel deprives her of this choice, whisking...

We're not sure if the entire episode was posted at any point, but the finale was made available early to people who bought the season pass for the show through Apple. Season 2 of The Last of Us concludes next Sunday, and HBO has now shared a series of new promo stills and two clips teasing what's to come in what promises to be an eventful and intense episode.

We learned that Ellie did speak to Joel on his porch the night of the New Year's Eve dance, telling him that she would "like to try" to forgive him for his murderous actions in Salt Lake City back in the season 1 finale.

We are now building to a face-off between Ellie and Abby, but will we see it this Sunday? Without giving too much away for anyone who hasn't played the video game, there...

Last of Us: Here's Why Joel Killed Abby's Father
Image
The Last of Us Season 1 ended with Joel killing all members of the Fireflies inside St. Mary's Hospital in Salt Lake City, including Abby's father, Jerry Anderson, to save Ellie. Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie's (Bella Ramsey) journey in Season 1 of Max's post-apocalyptic series mainly focused on reaching Salt Lake to search for the hospital run by the Fireflies (led by Merle Dandridge's Marlene) to procure a cure based on Ellie's immunity to the cordyceps virus.

After dealing with several ups and downs, the pair eventually reached the hospital, but Joel made a crucial decision to save Ellie after learning the truth about what the doctors would do to her to find a cure. Joel's controversial decision from the Season 1 finale carried over to The Last of Us Season 2, affecting his father-daughter relationship with Ellie because he lied to her and, ultimately, costing him his life five years later.

The Last Of US Season 2, Episode 5 Teaser Finally Introduces A Terrifying Threat From The Video Game
Image
In this week's episode of The Last of Us season 2, "Day One," Ellie and Dina narrowly escape from a horde of infected, with Ellie taking a bite in the arm in order to protect the woman she loves.

Of course, Dina had been kept in the dark about Ellie's immunity, and was fully prepared to shoot her in the head to prevent her from becoming a ravenous killer. Fortunately, Ellie is able to convince Dina that she will not turn, and the latter expresses her relief by first telling Ellie that she is pregnant with Jesse's child, and then instigating their first roll in the hay.

The episode also featured a recreation of what has become almost an iconic moment from the game, as Ellie plays a rendition of Ah-ha's "Take On Me" for Dina after discovering a guitar in a run-down music shop.

"[In the show], it's like, I'm fully embracing not...

Who Is Isaac Dixon in ‘The Last of Us’? Jeffrey Wright’s Character Explained
Image
HBO’s ‘The Last of Us’ dives deeper into its post-apocalyptic world with season 2, and one character stealing the spotlight is Isaac Dixon, played by Jeffrey Wright. If you’re wondering who this guy is and why he matters, let’s break it down. He’s a former Marine who turned against Fedra, the government agency running quarantine zones, after growing fed up with their harsh rule. His leadership helped the Wlf overthrow Fedra in Seattle, but freedom came at a cost. Isaac...

Who Plays Isaac In The Last Of Us Season 2
Image
A new era of "The Last of Us" brings a brand new cast of survivors and some characters we'll probably end up crying over when they roll up a sleeve and reveal they've been become infected in the post-apocalyptic society. But besides new friendly faces joining the fold, there are also some far colder characters making the tough choices that others daren't make. But who is playing this new authority figure that could clash with our heroes? None other than beloved star, Jeffery Wright.

An Oscar-nominated actor who might have one of the coolest voices in Hollywood, Jeffrey Wright is an all-around brilliant talent that elevates just about anything he puts his name to. But while some other...

"Slowly. When we kill him, we kill him slowly."

As character introductions go, it doesn't get much more unnerving than Abby Anderson's debut in last night's season 2 premiere of The Last of Us. Abby convinces her friends to help her track Joel down, but they decide to investigate a new faction (who will turn out to be the Washington Liberation Front/Wlf) first, and we don't see them again until the closing moments of "Future Days" when Abby's crew arrives to the outskirts of the Jackson settlement.

‘The Last of Us’ Returns With Season 2: What to Know Before the Premiere
Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey in The Last of Us (2023)
The Last of Us returns to HBO and Max on April 13 for its second season. The new chapter begins five years after the events of Season 1 and will introduce Abby, portrayed by Kaitlyn Dever. With over two years since the first season aired, the story’s key developments may not be fresh for all viewers.

Season 1 opened on September 26, 2013, the day the Cordyceps brain infection spread beyond containment. The fungus mutated and adapted to humans after the climate warmed. Joel Miller (Pedro Pascal), a contractor living in Austin, Texas, experienced the collapse first-hand. His daughter Sarah (Nico Parker) was killed by a soldier who mistook them for infected.

Two decades later, Joel lived in Boston’s Quarantine Zone, working in a militarized post-outbreak society run by Fedra. He accepted a job escorting Ellie Williams (Bella Ramsey), a teenager who appeared immune to the infection. Accompanied by Tess (Anna Torv), Joel left the zone.

Image
During Tina Perry’s tw0-decade journey at Oprah Winfrey’s OWN Network, she’s helped flesh out OWN’s diverse slate of films and TV series by upholding OWN’s mission to cater to “her,” OWN’s target audience: Black women.

In doing so, OWN has premiered scripted hits, including the Merle Dandridge-led church drama “Greenleaf” and Ava DuVernay’s “Queen Sugar.” But the network has steadily been developing its reality-tv sector. After the successful life coaching series “Iyanla, Fix My Life,” starring inspirational speaker Iyanla Vanzant, ended in 2021, OWN took it up a notch with the hiring of reality-tv mega producer Carlos King, who signed a first-look deal with the channel that same year.

Today, OWN boasts a wide variety of reality docu-soaps, including King’s “Belle Collective,” the ever-viral “Family or Fiancé” hosted by Tracy McMillan, and its newest addition, “Somebody’s Son.”

Was Joel Right To Save Ellie? The Last Of Us HBO Creators Reveal Their Honest Thoughts
Image
At the end of season 1 of "The Last of Us" (the massively popular apocalyptic drama based on the similarly popular video game), Joel (Pedro Pascal) made a seemingly impossible choice. After transporting his young ward Ellie (Bella Ramsey) to a group of rebel Fireflies on the orders of their leader Marlene, Joel realizes something gutting. See, Ellie is immune to the cordyceps infection sweeping the world (which is turning the people it infects into bloodthirsty zombies), so the Fireflies assembled a team of medical professionals to see if they can use her genetic material to create a cure. In order to do this, Ellie has to die, and Joel, who lost his daughter Sarah (Nico Parker) at the very beginning of the game and show, can't bring himself to let Ellie give her life for this cause. Shooting his way through the makeshift hospital, Joel carries an unconscious Ellie out...

New The Last Of US Season 2 Poster & Stills Released; Kaitlyn Dever Responds To Abby Backlash
Image
HBO recently debuted an intense full trailer for the second season of The Last of Us, and we now have a new poster and some promo stills to go with it.

The key art features returning protagonists Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey), while the images spotlight several supporting characters as well as the season's new antagonist, Abby (Kaitlyn Dever).

Abby Anderson might well go down as one of the most despised video game characters in history (you'll find out why soon enough), and Dever was fully aware that taking on the role would open the door to a certain amount of backlash.

"Well, it's hard not to see those things on the internet," the Apple Cider Vinegar star tells Screen Rant. "It's hard not to stop myself from looking at it every once in a while, especially going into this, for sure. And I want to do this...

Quick LinksThe Last of Us Creatives Have Announced a Concerning ChangeAbby's Physical Prowess Defines The Last of Us IIAbby Is a Rare Character In the Entertainment Industry

Neil Druckmann's massively popular and emotional video game clicked its way into our hearts upon its release in 2013. Zombie-adjacent horror games were not a new concept, but the creator raised the stakes in the story of Joel and Ellie. The Last of Us isn't just a hack 'em-up role-playing game. Druckmann took the medium of video games to make a moving and -- more often than not -- an emotionally traumatic story. Players are thrust into the perspective of Joel Miller on the day that a devastating infection consumes the world. Druckmann forces the players to experience the most harrowing experience anyone can have -- losing a child. As Joel traverses a dystopian world, he is constantly confronted with his trauma, especially...
