Kavish Sachanandani
- Actor
Kavish Sachanandani, whose first name means "lord of poets" in Sanskrit, was born in Gibraltar to Jyoti Sachanandani, a pranic healer, and Jagdish Sachanandani, a small business owner.
With both parents being of Indian descent and living in a British overseas territory, Kavish was raised with exposure to both Indian and British cultures, as well as Spanish (given Gibraltar's close proximity to Spain).
Kavish spent much of his childhood involved in local variety shows, acting and dancing in theatre. He graduated from the University of South Wales in 2010 with a BA in Media Production and Film Studies. Soon, Kavish's younger brother, Krishna Sachanandani, would also enter the field of media and graduate from the University of Westminster in 2014 with a BA in animation.
Since 2015, Kavish has lived and worked in Gibraltar as a Customs Officer, but continued to explore his creative side in the form of music and acting, both in Spain and Gibraltar.
In 2019, Kavish used his experience in film-making to write, direct, star in, and edit a short film to surprise and propose to Rupali Saxena, an American-born health care worker. They married shortly after in 2020.
In 2024, Kavish appeared in an advertisement for Batery.ai for the world cricket season starring cricket legend Yuvraj Singh. Later in the same year, Kavish had a minor appearance in Tragic Waste, an ambitious local production directed by Nigel Canepa.
Eager to pursue a major role in the local scene, Kavish reunited with director Nigel Canepa for his upcoming project, Vases (2025) and landed his first major role where he would play the part of officer Karan.
