Exclusive: Nico Santos is set as a lead opposite Lauren Graham and Madison Shamoun in The Z-Suite, Tubi‘s upcoming comedy series, starring and executive produced by Graham (Gilmore Girls, Parenthood). The multi-generational workplace comedy, from writer, executive producer and showrunner Katie O’Brien, is AVOD service’s first homegrown live-action original series.

The Z-Suite is set at a boutique New York ad agency where generational divides see the established C-Suite and rising Gen Z employees collide. After a company decision spirals out of control, the agency’s reigning executives are pushed out and the Z-Suite employees are suddenly put in charge, ultimately testing both generations’ skills and patience.

Santos plays Doug, the exuberant and loyal right hand man to his CEO, Monica (Graham), at the Atelier Advertising Agency.

Exclusive: Gina Gershon (Borderlands), Katherine Waddell (Dinner in America), Ethan Slater (Wicked) and Jesse James Keitel (Queer as Folk) have signed on to star in The Designer, a new body horror feature from writer-director Em Johnson.

The film centers on Gerry (Waddell), whose need for an identity pushes her to join the massive multi-level marketing company, Kismetta, opening her up to a world of chaos that succumbs her to her own delusional reality.

Others in the cast include Michelle Hurd (Star Trek: Picard), Annie Golden (Orange Is the New Black), Jessica Belkin (American Horror Story) and Gwendoline Yeo (Star Wars: The Bad Batch).

Hailing from Incandescent Entertainment, First Bloom Films and Hemlock Circle Productions, the film’s producers are Jiarui Guo (Oh Canada), Warner Davis (The Re-Education of Molly Singer), and Waddell. Yuchuan Cao is serving as co-producer, with WME handling domestic sales.

Exclusive: Sony Pictures International Productions and Mucho Mas Media are in development on The Pet Nup, an original rom-com to be directed by Elaine del Valle (Midnight Hustle). Cast for the pic will include Emeraude Toubia (With Love), Gregg Sulkin (Runaways), Halston Sage (Dark Phoenix) and Emmy winner Jaime Pressly (My Name Is Earl).

Scripted by Tate Hanyok (Sex Appeal), the film’s logline is as follows: While a recently divorced couple navigates new life and love apart, the arrangement in their “Pet-Nup” forces them to extremes as they fight for custody of the one thing in their life that can’t be split in two: their dog.
