Walt Disney Animation Studios pulled back the curtain on Zootopia 2 on Friday, offering the first major preview of the highly anticipated sequel during a packed presentation at the Annecy international animation film festival.
Director and writer Jared Bush, who also serves as Disney Animation’s new chief creative officer, made his Annecy debut with the film, unveiling new footage from Zootopia 2 at the Bonlieu Scène Nationale. The sequel to Disney’s 2016 Oscar-winning hit reunites audiences with rabbit police officer Judy Hopps and former con-artist fox Nick Wilde as they investigate a mysterious new arrival in the mammal metropolis: a reptile named Gary De’Snake (voiced by Everything Everywhere All At Once star Ke Huy Quan).
Bush revealed they cast Quan after spotting the excitable Oscar-winner doing an interview on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert and decided he had exactly the right energy to play Gary the venomous but misunderstood snake.

Stars: Jackie Chan, Pierce Brosnan, Rufus Jones, Mark Tandy, Niall McNamee, Charlie Murphy, Orla Brady, Michael McElhatton | Written by David Marconi, Stephen Leather | Directed by Martin Campbell
Going into The Foreigner, I expected a standard action thriller, perhaps a predictable revenge plot padded with familiar tropes and over-the-top set pieces. But what I got was something far more grounded, surprisingly tense, and emotionally resonant. Director Martin Campbell, known for revitalizing James Bond not once but twice, manages to deliver a taut, politically-tinged thriller that’s equal parts espionage drama and personal vendetta, anchored by two compelling performances from Jackie Chan and Pierce Brosnan.
Jackie Chan, in a stark departure from his typically light-hearted action fare, plays Quan Ngoc Minh, a quiet, almost ghostlike London restaurateur whose teenage daughter is killed in a politically motivated bombing. Chan’s performance is subdued, even haunted. There’s a depth of sorrow in his...

Disney show American Born Chinese might have been canceled just after one season, but that did not mean the show went without a mark. Adapted from Gene Luen Yang’s graphic novel, the series broadly followed the Jin Wang’s journey to coming in terms with his Chinese heritage.
In his journey to self-discovery, Jin Wang, the son of a Chinese immigrant, meets exchange student Wei-Chen who is fighting his own battle. While We-Chen tries to flee from his own heritage, the two teens count on each other.
Luen Yang based his 2006 book primarily on his adolescent experiences while incorporating elements of classic Chinese folktales and mythology. While the Disney show is not a faithful adaptation of the book, the changes it incorporated only made the viewing experience better.

Over two years since the sequel was announced, it's finally time to reunite with Judy Hopps (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Nick Wilde (Jason Bateman). Disney released the first trailer for Zootopia 2, which brings viewers back to the mean streets of the titular city for the first time since 2016. Now that they're both full-fledged police officers and partners, they'll be tackling a new case in the follow-up involving a mysterious reptile voiced by franchise newcomer Ke Huy Quan.
Zootopia 2 sends Judy and Nick to the diverse and bustling Marsh Market, where they head to unravel their latest lead. However, they soon find themselves on the trail of Gary De'Snake (Quan), whose appearance has caused quite the stir in...

Disney has been making entertainment magic for more than 100 years, but in recent years, Disney+ has become the go-to streaming service for fans who want to rewatch the movies and shows that they love the most. Some people head to the famed Disney princesses (which /Film has ranked), while others revisit live-action adventures like "Tron." It's easy to immediately go for the comfort food, but Disney+ offers more than the popular stuff that people make a beeline for.
Amid popular TV shows like "Boy Meets World" and "Lizzie McGuire" (which was cancelled twice), Disney+ has plenty of shows that didn't get the recognition they deserved when they premiered. This gave them an underdog status that could have been brought on by over-saturation of content or a storyline that was ahead of its time. These forgotten shows hold a special place within the Disney catalog,...

Ke Huy Quan turns Jackie Chan in the action comedy Love Hurts, from producer David Leitch (John Wick), whose production company 87North also made Nobody and Violent Night. Admittedly, the film has its fair share of problems, but Quan’s likeability and some decent fight scenes paper over a lot of the flaws.
Recent Oscar-winner Quan plays mild-mannered estate agent Marvin Gable, who, just like mild-mannered Bob Odenkirk in Nobody, turns out to have a secret violent past, in this case as a deadly killer, working for his gangster brother Knuckles (Daniel Wu). Marvin walked away from that life after Knuckles ordered him to kill Rose (recent Oscar-winner Ariana DeBose), the woman he loved, whereupon he faked her death,...

A great role can make a career... if there's a decent follow up. A good actor makes you believe they are the character, but sometimes, if they make you believe too well, it becomes impossible to see them as anyone else -- and that turned out to be the case for many of the actors on this list. A significant chunk of them have even been nominated for and sometimes even won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor, only to find that the same energy couldn't be duplicated in other parts less perfectly tailored to their skills. Some struggled because of industrywide racial stereotypes limiting their opportunities, while others may have been limited in range to begin with and were incredibly lucky to find the one part that really worked.

Warner Bros. classic coming-of-age adventure movie The Goonies has officially found a new streaming home, four decades after its theatrical release. The 1985 movie was produced by Oscar-winning filmmaker Steven Spielberg, who was the one responsible for creating the story.
The Goonies is currently available to stream for free on Tubi. The movie was led by a group of rising young stars, including Astin, Josh Brolin, Ke Huy Quan, and Corey Feldman. The story follows Mikey (Astin), who accidentally discovers a hidden map which he believes will lead them to the long-lost treasure of pirate One-Eyed Willy. In order to save their homes from getting foreclosed, Mikey, his older brother, and friends embark on a once-in-a-lifetime treasure hunt, which means avoiding booby traps and fending off an Italian criminal family.

Raq has ops Everywhere and has no one to blame but herself.
Even so, how she’s being accused of things she didn’t do left, right, and center is getting ridiculous.

With each move Unique made, he was putting himself out there more and more, and at some point, somebody was going to see him and realize, “Damn, you look a lot like Unique.”
Unique would then open his mouth and make a quip about coming back from the dead, and the jig would be up.

It was confirmed this year that Warner Bros. was developing the sequel to the 1985 cult classic The Goonies. So far, it has been revealed that the old creative team is back to work on the next installment. However, one thing that's still shrouded in mystery is the cast. That mystery continues to linger as, according to the original ensemble, they, too, are unsure if they're going to return.
The Goonies featured a decent child ensemble, starring Sean Astin, Josh Brolin, Jeff Cohen, Corey Feldman, andKe Huy Quan, some of whom could continue their acting careers as adults while others pursued other endeavors. But since the original cast are now adults, the question lingers about whether they will have cameo roles or be part of the main cast but all grown up. During the “Hey You Guys! The Goonies 2 is officially in development by Warner Bros. Pictures and Ke Huy Quan, who starred in the original as Data, has offered an exciting update that's enough to keep the dream alive. So far, nothing beyond the official confirmation has been said about the sequel to The Goonies, so these tidbits of information will have to do for now.

It's a classic from the 1980s that follows a group of teenagers on the hunt for a pirate treasure with enough gold to save their homes from being torn down. It's been 40 years since The Goonies entered theaters, showcasing an adventure comedy film targeting children and the young at heart. After years of confirmation and denial, it wasn't until 2025 that it was announced that a sequel is finally in development, and Ke Huy Quan has recently shared an optimistic update on how it's going.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Quan shared that the people working on The Goonies sequel are the same creative team who worked on the first film, like Chris Columbus and Steven Spielberg, and has acknowledged it has been in development for a long time. Walt Disney Studios thrilled attendees at CinemaCon 2025 with exclusive looks at its upcoming slate of releases, including one of the company's most sought-after sequels: Zootopia 2. Oscar winner Ke Huy Quan took to the stage to unveil two clips and some first-look images from the long-awaited sequel to Disney's hit 2016 movie. He voices a character named Gary De'Snake in the animated feature, who is described as "a venomous-but-lovable pit viper" and one that is sure to slither away from any scuffles that Detectives Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde find themselves in.
The footage, shown during the Walt Disney Studios presentation on Thursday, which was attended by Variety, revealed that Judy and Nick might have more problems on their paws than usual, as the dynamic duo are now attending group therapy for seemingly mismatched police partners. Among them are "an elephant who keeps getting terrified of the mouse who shares a...

Plucky bunny cop Judy Hopps and her erstwhile foil, now partner, fox Nick Wilde got some prime screen time during Disney’s CinemaCon presentation today as a pair of clips were shown from Zootopia 2. The sequel to 2016’s Oscar-winning $1B+ grosser is due for release in the Thanksgiving corridor this year.
The first movie followed Judy (Ginnifer Goodwin) as a rookie cop who teams up with con artist Nick (Jason Bateman) to uncover a conspiracy in a titular metropolis of anthropomorphic animals.
New cast member Ke Huy Quan was on hand to introduce the fresh Zootopia 2 footage. He joins the follow-up as a snake named Gary, the impetus for Judy and Nick’s next case.
This portion of the show was introduced in voice-over by Bateman as Nick, who referred to CinemaCon as “ZinemaCon, Celebrating the Animal Experience” before Quan took the stage.

This portion of the show was introduced in voice-over by Bateman as Nick, who referred to CinemaCon as “ZinemaCon, Celebrating the Animal Experience” before Quan took the stage.

Things are about to get pretty hairy…or should we say furry?
During The Walt Disney Studios presentation at CinemaCon 2025, further details were revealed about the highly anticipated upcoming sequel “Zootopia 2.” Narrating an animated video shown to the crowd, the film’s main voice lead, Jason Bateman had some fun with Disney’s offerings, renaming their entire slate with animal puns like “Thundercolts” (“Thunderbolts”), “Sealio,” (“Elio”), and “Fantastic Fur” (“Fantastic Four: First Steps”).
Taking the stage, Academy Award-winner Ke Huy Quan was present to unveil the first footage for the sequel, having previously been announced as joining the cast during the D23 Expo in August 2024. “Zootopia 2” will introduce the world of reptiles, in which Quan plays a snake named Gary who Bateman’s Nick and Ginnifer Goodwin’s Judy are after. He’s the first of his species to enter Zootopia and his presence sets the sequel’s plot in motion.

Ke Huy Quan’s ‘Temple of Doom’ Secret!(Photo Credit –Instagram)
Ke Huy Quan spent months on the set of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, surrounded by creepy props and intense action. But there was one thing he wasn’t allowed to see: the film’s most infamous death scene.
When Temple of Doom hit theaters in 1984, it wasn’t just another action-adventure. It changed movie ratings forever. The sequel to Raiders of the Lost Ark took Indiana Jones to India, where he uncovered a sinister cult. The film packed in horror elements that went far beyond the usual PG rating, shocking parents and forcing the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) to introduce PG-13.
Spielberg had always pushed boundaries. Jaws was rated PG despite its terrifying shark attacks. Raiders had melting faces. But Temple of Doom went further, especially in one scene.
The moment that made audiences squirm?...

Ke Huy Quan as Marvin Gable in Love Hurts, directed by Jonathan Eusebio. Photo Credit: Allen Fraser/Universal Pictures Copyright © Universal Studios. All Rights Reserved. Sometimes, an actor takes a leap into uncharted territory and absolutely nails it. That’s exactly what Ke Huy Quan did after his Oscar-winning turn in Everything Everywhere All at Once. Riding high on his Best Supporting Actor win in 2024, Quan decided to mix it up and step into the rollicking world of action-comedy with Love Hurts. Love Hurts tells the story of a seemingly ordinary realtor whose quiet life takes a sharp turn when his ex-partner-in-crime resurfaces with a cryptic message. Throw in a dangerous, crime-lord brother hot on his heels, and suddenly our reluctant hero is forced to dig up the past he’s tried so hard to bury. Filled with fast-paced action, hilarious moments, and a surprising amount of heart, the film delivers on all fronts,...

Ke Huy Quan‘s leading debut with Love Hurts may not have blazed as hot as his comeback in Everything, Everywhere All at Once, but it’s certainly the type of throwback movie that is rarely seen nowadays. It’s a simple, fun, goofy little action comedy that’s brisk enough for an entertaining casual viewing and it doesn’t try to be anything more. Quan’s charm and his action prowess really come through and it’s cool to see him step up into the lead role.
Love Hurts is set to have a collector’s edition 4K Blu-ray release courtesy of Universal Pictures Home Entertainment, according to Blu-ray.com. While Love Hurts didn’t make a big splash at the box office, you can catch the movie on physical media with a bunch of special features, including a bevy of deleted and alternate scenes. On Sunday night in Los Angeles, the comedy-drama Anora won the Academy Award for Best Picture. The film’s director, Sean Baker and co-producers Samantha Quan and Alex Coco accepted the award during the 97th Academy Awards.
“To all of the dreamers and young filmmakers out there, tell the stories you want to tell,” Quan said onstage after she, Baker and Coco accepted the award. “Tell the stories that move you. I promise you, you will never regret it.”
“I want to thank the Academy for recognizing a truly independent film,” the director shared. “This film was made on the blood, sweat and tears of incredible indie artists.”
Anora, a film about an exotic dancer marrying the wealthy son of a Russian oligarch, won five out of the six categories for which it was nominated, including Best Picture.
Baker also won the Best Director, Best Original Screenplay and Best Film Editing categories.

For the second consecutive year, the Best Picture Oscar has been all in the family.

Baker and Quan, who shared the award with producer Alex Coco, are the fourth — or fifth, technically; see the “Lord of the Rings” team below — romantic partners to score the Oscar’s most coveted prize.

Sean Baker won Best Director at the Oscars for Anora on Sunday night, one of four individual awards Baker won during the historic evening.
Baker topped Jacques Audiard (Emilia Pérez), Brady Corbet (The Brutalist), Coralie Fargeat (The Substance), and James Mangold (A Complete Unknown) for the win. He also won Best Original Screenplay and Best Editing and shared the Anora Best Picture win with producers Samantha Quan and Alex Coco.
During his speech, Baker advocated for the theatrical experience and implored audiences and studios to support movie theaters and theatrical releases, especially independently run theaters that are currently at greatest risk of shuttering.
“We are all here tonight because we love movies. Where did we fall in love with movies? At the movie theater,” said Baker. “In a time in which our world can feel very divided, this is more important than ever: It’s a communal experience you simply don’t get at home.

The Oscars race for Best Supporting Actor has lacked the drama of other categories this year — so it's fitting that the clear favorite is nominated for his role in a comedy. A Real Pain star Kieran Culkin leads Gold Derby's odds to take home the statuette on March 2 — and it doesn't look like Yura Borisov (Anora), Edward Norton (A Complete Unknown), Guy Pearce (The Brutalist), or Jeremy Strong (The Apprentice) can do anything about it. But who has the best shot at pulling off the upset? Let's break down the category.

Kenny and Tim are into some shady stuff regarding their Sho-Kel fund and the government of Brunei. Tim’s call with Kenny featured the voice of an actor many fans hoped would appear in the show at some point after he blew back onto the acting scene in the 2020s.

Answering fans' questions for The Guardian, Quan was asked about the celebrities who dropped by during the filming of The Goonies. Among them were Cyndi Lauper, Michael Jackson and Clint Eastwood. But Quan shared that he was most starstruck by Harrison Ford, and he also shared an anecdote about how director Steven Spielberg saw Ford's set visit as an opportunity to play a prank on the actor. Ke Huy Quan recently told The Guardian that one of his most fond memories of making “The Goonies” was an unforgettable prank producer Steven Spielberg played on Harrison Ford, Quan’s “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom” co-star who visited the set during production.
“I was star-struck when Harrison Ford came to visit because I’d made Indy. Spielberg played a big joke on him,” Quan said. “There was a biography out of him that he really hated, so Steven went out and bought about 300 copies, so that when Harrison came to visit and walked on to set, the security guard, the gaffers, the camera equipment people, everybody was reading that biography.”
Quan made his acting debut in “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom,” with “The Goonies” being his follow-up project. Spielberg directed the former. As it turns out, Ford wasn’t the only A-list visitor on set.
