María studied film direction in the ENERC (National Film School) from Buenos Aires, Argentina, and graduated in 2010. That internationally prestigious school admits only ten students per field each year. As an actress, she quickly achieved an outstanding career, including the leading role in Lucrecia Martel's 'La niña santa'. She wrote and directed some short films, which were selected in important festivals such as Locarno, La Habana and Rotterdam. In 2017 she directed her first feature film, a co-production involving Germany, Brazil and Norway.
