Taylor Kitsch never really identified himself as either a television actor or a film actor. It's all work, and he doesn't approach a character differently, whether they're on the big or small screen. Currently, he's getting ready for the August 27 premiere of Amazon's The Terminal List: Dark Wolf, where he plays Ben Edwards. He stars and serves as executive producer in the action thriller with Chris Pratt, who plays James Reece. While promoting the show is his primary focus right now, that hasn't stopped reporters from asking about his thoughts on the upcoming Friday Night Lights reboot — and he hasn't been shy about offering advice to whichever actor ends up being "the next Tim Riggins."
During an interview with IGN, Kitsch was up front about feeling like he'll never play Riggins again, but he's flattered that the character still resonates with fans. Kitsch also said that whoever fulfills Riggins' bad...

Considered one of the greatest action film series of all time, Derek Kolstad’s prominent John Wick franchise has come a long way from the first movie, released in 2014. The installment has since spawned three sequels and multiple spin-offs, as well as several more projects in development, including a fifth chapter. Keanu Reeves headlines the films in the titular role as a legendary hitman unwillingly drawn back into the criminal underworld after retiring to seek revenge against the men who killed his dog, a final gift from his recently deceased wife.
Despite the franchise’s popularity, there aren't many streamers that provide all four chapters, and as of June 2025, the films were available to stream on only Peacock, Fubo TV, USA Network’s streaming app, and NBC.com. That’s about to change as Hulu has plans for this summer. As announced by the streamer, the four original John Wick films...

The comic book version of Reed Richards has frequently sported facial hair, so Pedro Pascal having a moustache and beard in The Fantastic Four: First Steps isn't that big a deal.
Some fans have complained about The Last of Us star not going clean-shaven, but if you need to blame someone for that, you can lay it at the feet of whoever convinced Pascal to shave for 2020's Wonder Woman 1984.
Talking to Vanessa Kirby for LADbible's "Agree to Disagree" video series, Pascal explained, "I grow such shit facial hair, but if I were to shave it all off, I really look very [awful]. Strongly disagree with a clean-shaven me."
"I was so appalled by the way I look in 'Wonder Woman 1984.' I loved the movie, but I was so appalled by the way that I looked that I never have gone back unless it were completely necessary,...

Based on a 1990 novel of the same name by H. G. "Buzz" Bissinger and a 2004 film adaptation of said novel, Peter Berg's series "Friday Night Lights" is, ostensibly, about a scrappy Texas football team who overcome the odds after losing its star player to a traumatic injury right out of the gate. It's actually about the people living in Dillon, Texas, and the football of it all is simply a way to bring all the characters together. With Kyle Chandler as the unflappable and stern but big-hearted Coach Eric Taylor — whose loyal and loving wife Tami Taylor (Connie Britton) by his side along the way — the series became a massive critical success, despite the fact that it never drew a humongous audience during its original run, particularly after its second season was affected by the 2007-08 writer's strike.

When we are first introduced to Keanu Reeves’ brooding and serious character of John Wick, his wife has died, and he lives with his dog and has a very nice car in the 2014 film, John Wick.
Well, Alfie Allen, portraying the role of Iosef Tarasov, kills John Wick’s dog and nicks his car just because he felt like it. The Baba Yaga descends on these mobsters like a hailstorm, which later leads to his excommunication from The Continental, a part that was followed in later sequels. However, John Wick wasn’t the only assassin in town.

When Seth MacFarlane’s The Orville launched on Fox in 2017, many dismissed it as a Star Trek spoof. However, viewers soon found the show was an homage to Trek which stood on its own feet. At the recent Indiana Comic Convention, longtime Trek veteran Jonathan Frakes — who played Riker in The Next Generation before going on to direct many episodes of other series — explained the credentials behind the show’s pedigree.
As part of a Star Trek: The Next Generation panel — featuring Frakes, Brent Spiner, and Denise Crosby — a fan asked the stars about their opinion of The Orville. Frakes was quick to praise the critically acclaimed show, highlighting the love with which MacFarlane created the space drama.

Friday Night Lights alum Scott Porter weighs in on whether he'd be willing to return as Jason Street in Peacock's Friday Night Lights reboot. The acclaimed TV series, adapted from the novel "Friday Night Lights" and the 2004 film directed by Peter Berg, aired on NBC for its first two seasons, before shifting to DirectTV's 101 Network for seasons 3-5. Porter played Jason Street, a star quarterback who became a quadriplegic after a tragic accident, in Friday Night Lights seasons 1-3, and he made a return appearance in season 5.
Speaking to Deadline, Scott Porter says he would "100% go back" to West Texas as Jason Street in Peacock's Friday Night Lights reboot, but "only if it serves the story." WithPeter Berg returning as executive producer and Jason Katims once more the showrunner of the new Friday Night Lights, Porter is open to working with them again if they want Jason Street back.

Chris Hemsworth's rise to stardom was just about as swift as it gets. Unless you're from Australia, you'd likely never seen the handsome young actor before he up and stole the opening scene of J.J. Abrams' "Star Trek" in 2009. Two years later, he would become a global superstar as the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Thor. From there, it's been smooth sailing for the hotsy-totsy Aussie.
Interestingly, had it all gone according to schedule, "Thor" wouldn't have been Hemsworth's first starring role. In 2009, prior to the release of "Star Trek," Hemsworth was cast as the hunky, jockish Curt in Drew Goddard's "Cabin in the Woods." The hilarious genre mash-up was really more of an ensemble piece, but Hemsworth came on strong -- which was completely intentional given the character's surprising death early in the film. Had Goddard's movie been released as originally planned on February 5, 2010, Hemsworth's profile would've sharply ascended in Hollywood.

The bonds of Supernatural run deep. Like the ongoing procedural, Law & Order, the 15-season drama was a stopping point for many acclaimed actors on their rise to the top. For Adrianne Palicki, it was a speedy but recurring guest appearance just before she skyrocketed to fame in Friday Night Lights, while Sterling K. Brown got his hands dirty with the Winchester brothers before Army Wives, which led him on the path towards This Is Us. Double-dipping into the Supernatural universe, not only did Lauren Cohan enjoy a guest-starring role as a complex villain, but she went on to star with fellow Supernatural alum, Jeffrey Dean Morgan in The Walking Dead and its hit spin-off, The Walking Dead: Dead City, the latter of which having just debuted its second season.

Ever since The Orville wrapped up its third season all the way back in 2022, we've been dying for news of a follow-up. Dubbed The Orville: New Horizons, season 3 was such a step above everything that had come before that it was mind-blowing. Not only was it a great season of Seth MacFarlane's comedic sci-fi drama, it was also just one of the all-around best seasons of science fiction television of that year. Alas, it was also a big, expensive season of television that took more than two years to produce, and Hulu did not rush to give season 4 the green light.
But hope has remained alive for the past several years. Whenever The Orville comes up in interviews, its cast has kept that torch burning. Lead star and general creative force behind the series Seth MacFarlane (Ed Mercer) reassured fans in early 2024 that "the show is not dead," and...

The Marvel Cinematic Universe’s tie-in with the television shows that Marvel Studios has created over the years runs deeper than we had originally thought, and we have two examples in front of us.
It has been quite some time since fans have seen the faces of these two iconic characters, but they were quite important when Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was airing on live television. Well, if the rumors are true, then we might just be celebrating the return of two veteran agents in the field who are needed in the MCU now more than ever!
Two Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. actors might be returning to the MCU
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has a certain way of doing things. From returning characters to merging two forces from two different universes by making a connection between them, the MCU does not leave loose ends ever.

Adrianne Palicki has some terrible superhero luck. Not only was the actor's Wonder Woman pilot shelved, she recently revealed that her Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. character, Bobbi Morse, was supposed to have appeared in other Marvel Cinematic Universe projects before those opportunities evaporated.
Speaking to The Direct, Palicki, whose S.H.I.E.L.D. character was known as Mockingbird in the comics, shared details about negotiations that preceded the ABC television series in 2014. "The conversation I had when I signed on actually to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was either I was going to be participating in the films or have a spin-off," the actor explained.

One star from Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. series just revealed new details about what her future as a Marvel star was supposed to look like. Adrianne Palicki stars in Seasons 2 and 3 of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as Bobbi Morse, also known as Mockingbird. Palicki’s character was written out of the series in the third season to prepare for a spin-off series that never came to fruition. Palicki recently sat down with The Direct to talk about her new project, The Salamander King, and she revealed that her role as Mockingbird was supposed to be for much more than just two seasons in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.:
"The conversation I had when I signed on actually to 'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' was either that I was going to be participating in the films or have a spin-off."
Palicki also spoke about the planned spin-off that she even filmed scenes for,...

When Adrianne Palicki joined the cast of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as Bobbi Morse/Mockingbird, there was a lot of excitement among fans. The series had largely focused on original characters up until that point, so a legit superhero joining the crew was welcomed.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. ended with season 7, and a planned spin-off led by Palicki and Nick Blood's Lance Hunter, Marvel's Most Wanted, shot a pilot while the series was on the air. However, it didn't receive the green light, and that was it for Mockingbird.
Taking to The Direct, Palicki confirmed that, when she signed up to play Mockingbird in 2014, she was promised the opportunity to bring the character to the big screen.

The 2023 Writers Guild of America strike lasted a whopping 148 days, becoming the second-longest strike in the labor union's history. From May 2 to Sept. 27, 2023, Hollywood writers were on strike after disputes with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) involving demands for higher pay and fair residuals, mandatory writer staffing, and protection from the threat of AI technologies. The strike impacted a slew of hit TV shows, including Abbott Elementary, Stranger Things, Saturday Night Live, The Handmaid's Tale, Severance, Hacks, and The Orville.
The Season 3 finale of the latter show premiered on Aug. 4, 2022, about nine months before the historic WGA strikes. From creator Seth MacFarlane (who donated a total of $6 million to the Entertainment Community Fund during the strikes), The Orville acts as a funny but heartfelt Star Trek spoof of sorts set 400 years in the future and follows the trials and tribulations of a starship crew, made up of both humans and aliens,...

Former Blade Star Delroy Lindo Says MCU Reboot "Went Off The Rails" And Teases His Now-Scrapped Role
Like Lanterns star Aaron Pierre, Delroy Lindo was cast in an earlier version of Blade before eventually departing the project amid a seemingly endless series of rewrites and creative team changes (the one constant has been Mahershala Ali's involvement).
We don't know who Lindo was set to play, though it was widely speculated that he'd been cast as Jamal Afari, the man who raised Blade and taught him everything he knows about hunting vampires.
The actor is no longer attached to the movie, and it's unclear whether he or the character will feature in a potential future iteration.
Talking to Entertainment Weekly about his role in Sinners, Lindo recalled, "When Marvel came to me, they seemed to be really interested in my input. And in the various conversations I had with producers, the writer, the director at the time, it was all leading into being very inclusive."
"It was really exciting conceptually,...

They say behind every good Avenger is a lifelong partner who's okay with them heading off to save the world from Norse gods, angry robots, or glove-obsessed purple tyrants. In the case of Clint Barton, aka Hawkeye, that person is his devoted wife and mother to his three children, Laura Barton. Sticking with the avenging archer through thick and thin and sharing a love so strong Clint crossed time and space to bring it back, it's safe to say that Laura Barton truly was one of the good ones. But just what is her history in the MCU, and how much of it comes from the comics?
It turns out Laura Barton's history is as surprising as her entrance into the world of super soldiers and iron men. It's a past that, while simple for casual viewers, actually gets a bit more confusing the deeper you dive into this franchise that's spanned over 17 years.

Seth MacFarlane's The Orville has received high praise from Star Trek: The Next Generation actor Jonathan Frakes. A fan asked him about the parody series at this year's Indiana Comic Convention.
Reported by Collider, a fan asked Frakes, who played William Riker in Star Trek: The Next Generation, his thoughts about Seth MacFarlane's beloved series. The Orville both parodies and pays homage to Star Trek and the Next Generation eras, while also taking inspiration from Star Wars to tell a sci-fi comedy story, with the crew of its space-ship going on serialized adventures. Frakes spoke highly of both MacFarlane and his work, saying, "Seth MacFarlane is arguably our biggest celebrity fan."
One of the reasons Frakes had such nice things to say about The Orville was due to the way MacFarlane utilized Star Trek veteran creatives for the series. "He hired Brannon Braga, who worked on a lot of our best stuff.

Doctor Odyssey’s orca attack is rather poetic: Just as a pod of killer whales known to organize according to a matriarchal structure rocks the boat, the ABC sudser’s primary female character begins drowning in her own abstraction.

Carrie Underwood Won Me Over in American Idol’s Season 23 Premiere — Watch the Moment That Sealed It
Heading into Season 23 of American Idol, I had my reservations about Carrie Underwood joining the judges’ panel. I have nothing against her as a person, and certainly not as an artist, but I just didn’t think she’d be able to keep the show’s energy up. (Say what you will about Katy Perry, and I know she had her share of haters, but that woman did so much heavy lifting during her seven-season run.)
Then came Sunday’s premiere, during which something hit me like a Louisville Slugger. And like so many unexpected revelations, it came via the...

Doctor Odyssey Dives Into Shark-Infested Waters With Adrianne Palicki — Grade the Midseason Premiere
We’ve got a new doctor on board The Odyssey — Adrianne Palicki’s Dr. Brooke Lane aka “Hot Shark Doctor” — and she’s already threatening to tear our favorite TV throuple apart.
During Thursday’s midseason premiere, our crew responds to Brooke’s Mayday signal from a nearby vessel, The Flicka. It’s taking on water, and two passengers have already been attacked by a shark. Max and Tristan embark on a rescue mission, leaving Avery behind to tend to their own crew member’s bite.

Spoiler Alert: Spoilers follow for John Wick: Chapter 4Even as Chad Stahelski and company insist it’s in the works, a possible John Wick: Chapter 5 still remains a huge question mark among cinephiles (especially since Keanu Reeves cast uncertainty on it). By all accounts, Chapter 4 was a perfect ending, assuming the creative team decided to leave things there, as it poignantly tied up the title character’s arc and sent Reeves out on a high note. On the other hand, it feels like the unexpected breakout action franchise only keeps expanding, as this year sees the release of the spin-off film, Ballerina, and there’s reportedly an animated prequel and a film focused solely on Chapter 4 standout Caine.
If the creative team does decide to continue, they’ve already given themselves enough wiggle room that it’d be far from the most contrived franchise continuation out there. Admittedly,...

In the 2010s, the success of Arrow resulted in a Flash spinoff series and eventually the entire Arrowverse. Despite being its spiritual successor, Smallvillenever went down this path. However, it wasn't for a lack of trying, and as recently as two years ago, there was still interest in reviving the beloved Superman series.
Smallville was a smash hit that lasted 10 seasons, but none of its potential spinoffs even got a single season. Only one of the conceptualized spinoffs even had a pilot produced, even after the CW drama went out of its way to include multiple backdoor pilots. Every proposed spinoff would have starred at least one iconic DC hero, and with fans having only recently learned about some of them, it's possible there are still pitches that haven't been unveiled.
Aquaman Had a Full Pilot Produced
Arthur "AC" Curry, Aka Aquaman, made his debut on Smallville in Season 5, Episode 4, "Aqua.

Keanu Reeves has become known for his brutal role as dog-loving assassin John Wick in the last decade, but he will be leaving that all behind for an upcoming role that will see him bring back “comedic Keanu.” Jonah Hill-directed Outcome will not only see Reeves being reunited with Cameron Diaz for the first time since 1996 dark comedy Feeling Minnesota, but will also find him leaving behind his action hero persona for something in which he doesn’t even do “one karate punch.”
According to Roy Wood Jr., who also appears in the movie, the film is “extremely funny,” and he shared as much as he was able about Reeves’ appearance at the Sundance Film Festival. Speaking to ScreenRant, he said:
“I spoke with Jonah Hill, who's directing and starring in Outcome, and I know they were still finishing up, just a couple of tweaks on the edit. I...
