Julia Barnett(I)

Julia Barnett's creative journey spans continents and disciplines. Raised in the Midwest, she later lived in East Africa before establishing herself in New York City, where she built a successful acting career in television. Now based in Austin, Texas, Julia continues to thrive as an actor, writer, and director. Her filmmaking debut was with the short film "Chasing Grace," which premiered at SXSW in 2017. In 2023, with partner Mindy Raymond, Julia launched Rolling Reels Productions, writing and directing two features, "A Christmas In New Hope" and "Texas Cult House," the latter premiering at the 2024 Austin Film Festival. Other writing credits include her play "Modern Missionary" which earned "Best Play" at the NYC Fringe Festival. For decades, Julia has also served as Chief Creative Officer for the African Children's Choir, crafting their touring and theatrical productions.
