Here’s the inside scoop about Raja Saab (Photo Credit – Instagram)

Director Maruti, known for his successful small and mid-budget films, initially surprised many when he announced a project with Prabhas, a superstar with a solid fan base. This collaboration led to skepticism among fans, with some even launching social media campaigns against it. However, expectations for Raja Saab have shifted significantly. Contrary to initial beliefs that it would be a low-scale project to bridge Prabhas’s more significant films, Raja Saab has evolved into a grand production.

Producer Tg Vishwa Prasad spoke up on the scale of Raja Saab in an interview, elevating fan anticipation. He described the film as an ambitious, magnum opus-style project.

“I can reveal little about Raja Saab because it follows a unique marketing strategy. But this film is extraordinary. The project began two years ago, and after Kalki, we have a major schedule lined up.

Orchestra, Mysuru! review: A solid idea buoyed by music, weighed down by cliches
Image
Review Instead of letting the audience experience the drama through the characters, debutant director Sunil Mysooru Tells the story in a slightly overbearing manner. In trying to force-feed the information, he compromises on nuance.ShuklajiScreengrab"If you want to be part of an orchestra, you will have to be ready to sing on the streets," says one of the two main characters of Orchestra, Mysuru! to the other, suggesting that the latter has to bare his soul and shed his pride and shame if he wants to make it big. The speaker is Naveen Raj, a bona fide orchestra superstar who has held an open, impromptu audition of Poorna on one such street in Mysuru, all under the garb of possibly teaching him a ‘valuable’ lesson. The power dynamic is apparent here. Naveen Raj sits in a car that emphatically boasts his and his orchestra troop's name in large, bright blue stickering.

‘Thank your darling’, says S S Rajamouli, as Prabhas cheers ‘Rrr’ accolades
Image
Even as he was busy collecting awards and celebrating the two Golden Globe nominations for ‘Rrr’, ace director S S Rajamouli responded to a congratulatory message from his ‘Baahubali’ star Prabhas with a heartwarming short and bromantic tweet.

Prabhas had tweeted: “The greatest @ssrajamouli garu is going to conquer the world. Congratulations for winning the prestigious New York Films Critics Circle Award for the best director & bagging the LA Films Critics’ Awards for the best director (runner-up).”

He also congratulated the “legendary [M.M.] Keeravaani garu” for receiving the LA Films Critics Association award for best music director. The composer was again in the news when the ‘Rrr’ number, ‘Naatu Naatu’, got a Golden Globe nomination.

Responding to the actor’s wishes, Rajamouli replied: “Thank you Darling. You believed in my international recognition when I myself didn’t.”

On the work front, Prabhas will be next seen in ‘Spirit’, ‘Salaar’, ‘Adipurush’ (opposite...

‘Bhediya’ gang bring you the hippest track of the year ‘Baaki Sab Theek!’
Image
A wolf in need is a friend indeed! Bhediya’s latest track sees Varun Dhawan and his trusted wolfpack set out on a special road trip with a cosy vintage car for company. ‘Baaki Sab Theek’ is a quirky melody that features Varun Dhawan, Abhishek Banerjee and Paalin Kabak driving through the serene roads of Arunachal as they hum the groovy tune. The song perfectly captures the camaraderie and bond between the three friends. The age old Maruti 800 used by them also sparks a bout of nostalgia.

The most unique part about the track is its funky lingo that is on fleek with the whole ‘road trip with buddies’ vibe.

Talking about the song, composers Sachin-Jigar say, “Baaki Sab Theek is a young and fresh tune with a cool and casual mood.Song speaks of so many cool things u might do to kill time On long road trip ! Next...

Movie Review | Godavari: Arthouse cinema at its best
Image
Jitendra Joshi, who plays the lead character ‘Nishikant’ in Godavari won the best actor award at Iffi to be the only 4th Indian actor to win this award in the last 60 years! To add to the credibility, Godavari was the only Marathi film among the six films selected in Indian languages by the government for Cannes and the only Indian film at this year’s Vancouver International Film Festival.

One of the most silent characters of Godavari – Nashik – has a lot of mythological significance due to its references to stories of Ramayana, birthplace of Hanuman, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas, Kumbh Mela, source of Godavari, etc. However, even in contemporary times, the ancient city of Nashik, on the banks of the river Godavari is seen to be maintaining its traditions going on for years together.

Nikhil Mahajan’s ‘Godavari’ is about a traditional family in old Nashik. Nishikant Deshmukh (Jitendra Joshi...
