Studied at a drama school in Leipzig between 2001 and 2005.
On the first edition of the "German Actor Award" held during the Berlin Film Festival on 12 February 2012, she won the Award in the category "Best Leading Actress for Das geteilte Glück (2010).
Gave birth to her 1st child at age 30, a daughter, in August 2011. Child's father is unknown to the public.
Resides in the Prenzlauer Berg district in Berlin.
