Machine Head is an American heavy metal band from Oakland, California. The band was formed in 1991 by vocalist/guitarist Robb Flynn and bassist Adam Duce. The band's aggressive musicianship made them one of the pioneering bands in the new wave of American heavy metal. Machine Head has released nine studio albums. Four of the band's albums have been certified silver in the United Kingdom, and the band's highest peak on the Billboard 200 came with its eighth album, Bloodstone & Diamonds (2014), at number 21. To date, the band has sold over three million records worldwide.
