Vasilios Bouzas was born in Athens, Greece in 1964 to Greek parents. His father Athanasios Bouzas was a Bricklayer and his mother Xanthi Bouzas was a housewife. His family moved to Australia when he was just 3 years old and grew up in Melbourne, Victoria.
He had a promising soccer career as he played professionally at 16 years of age but injury put a stop to that. He studied at St.Albans High School and graduated at Essendon Grammar in Melbourne. He then went on to study Medical Laboratory Science at RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia.
His life changing moment came when he lost his mother to cancer...."holding her hand as she took her last breath, feeling helpless not being able to help her".His life spiralled out of control after her death but what stayed with him was "holding her hand". Years later his mother appeared in his dream and told him that she was ok and that he should get on with his life. The very next day he started writing "The Deathkeeper", the novella series which is now a Major motion picture called "DUSK" to be released worldwide in 2025.
Bouzas explores themes which revolve around life and death inspired by the loss of his mother. He tells his stories as a way of coping with grief and combining historical facts, fantasy, horror and philosophical questions about mortality. His works are defined by twisted plots involving supernatural forces, time travel, life and death and love.
Today he lives in Melbourne, Australia with his wife Sheema, their daughter Yasmin and their miracle boy Noah who was born at 561 grams.
