Chainsaw Manfans have long been expecting the final battle of the Academy Saga to be between Denji and Asa Mitaka, and the strongest of all Devils, the Death Devil. As of late, however, an increasing number of manga readers have come to believe that this has been misdirection. Just like in the Public Safety Saga, the true villain has been hiding in plain sight the entire time.
Yoru has been one of Chainsaw Man Part 2's protagonists, but recent manga chapters suggest she's also set to be the story's ultimate villain. The Death Devil has now debuted, and she's not at all the threat she was hyped up to be. Yoru, meanwhile, has been stated by Asa to be plotting something far worse than Death ever was.

Chainsaw Man Part Two has been divisive among fans of the series since it first premiered in 2022. Following the beloved and critically acclaimed Public Safety Saga, Tatsuki Fujimoto had quite a bit on his plate with the continuation of his series, and the author was well aware of that fact. Chainsaw Man became wildly popular throughout its initial run, garnering one of the largest fanbases a manga has ever had prior to any official anime release. And as soon as an adaptation was announced by Mappa, the fanfare only grew.
When the manga finally resumed after nearly two years, fans couldn't wait to pick up where Denji left off, and see the Hybrid Devil acclimate to high school life. Immediately, however, Fujimoto reminded his readers of the kind of author he is, and turned the focus away from the titular Chainsaw Man for the first several chapters. If Asa's...

It’s been almost two years since Chainsaw Man first premiered as the series took the anime scene by storm and continues to impact the genre. The slasher anime is nothing short of legendary in most aspects.
With Mappa’s creative brilliance, the series spotlights Tatsuki Fujimoto’s excellence as a mangaka. The blood, violence, and gore coupled with fantasy is what makes it stand out. However, fans are not happy with the studio’s latest development.

Anime is populated with dynamic characters that create memorable experiences, but it's often the deuteragonists—the crucial second leads—who add depth and richness to the story. These characters frequently contrast with or complement the protagonist, influencing the narrative in unique and compelling ways.
By definition, a deuteragonist is someone who holds the second most important role in a narrative, after the protagonist and before the tritagonist. They can either work with the main character or against them. Furthermore, a deuteragonist can also fill the role of a female and main antagonist, and this is actually common in many anime and manga.
Aki Hayakawa Chainsaw Man
Anime has no shortage of dark-haired introverted, but while Aki Hayakawa fits this bill, he hides way more complexity underneath. He is introduced as someone who detests Denji, but after he is assigned to take care of him and Power, he slowly manages to...

Shonen action anime can sometimes be a bloody affair, and it's not for the faint of heart. When the stakes are high and the characters go all out, serious bloodshed and horrific injuries are inevitable, and some shonen anime are actually famous for it. While some fights are bloodless with magic and cartoony physics, other battles crank up the gore to make the action feel palpable and real.
Plenty of shonen anime, especially from recent years, splattered the screen with blood and guts to truly sell the idea of two or more warriors giving it their all to destroy one another. This includes smaller-scale fights of two or three participants, along with larger-scale battles that include hundreds of fighters, most of whom are just cannon fodder who get massacred in bloody heaps. Such gory fights also tend to be a major turning point in the story, because only a plot-heavy,...

In the Dragon Ball franchise, Goku has undergone numerous legendary transformations that play a significant role in the anime's story. With each new threat that Goku faces, he often needs to reach new levels of power -- and his frequent transformations often give him the boost he needs to succeed and beat his enemies. The idea of an anime character unlocking a transformation to level up is far from a novel idea, though -- and plenty of other series give their characters even cooler transformations.
Some of the most iconic anime of all time feature these legendary transformations, and beloved characters like Bleach's Ichigo Kurosaki, Attack on Titan's Eren Yeager and more have all undergone shocking and awe-inspiring metamorphoses that rocked their series' stories to their core. The coolest character transformations show that some of anime's strongest heroes are willing to do whatever it takes to save the...

Courtney A. Kemp (in collaboration with Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson) created Power, which debuted on June 7, 2014, and quickly became one of Starz's most successful television shows. The 2014 crime drama series ran for six seasons before ending in 2020, and thanks to its popularity, Starz ordered multiple spin-offs tied to the original show. Four television series now exist in the Power universe (and not all of them are sequels to the first show), which means the order to watch the Powers series in order is a little bit confusing.
Power centers around James "Ghost" St. Patrick (played by Omari Hardwick), a drug dealer who wishes to leave the world of crime and pursue his dream of owning a nightclub. However, Ghost ends up having to balance both careers while navigating his struggles and the morality of his actions. Anime often features protagonists with very ambitious dreams. The shonen genre highlights many heroes who work tirelessly toward their dreams. While many of these titular characters ultimately accomplish their goals, like Ash Ketchum. Some central figures, like Jonathan Joestar, are not so lucky.
Many lead characters in shonen are defined by their dreams. Their respective series typically center on whether the heroes achieve success. Ultimately, the tone and scope of a shonen can be completely altered by the main characters' desires. Although characters like Meliodas might get a happy ending, individuals like Light Yagami, do not.

After 10 years of following the same formula, Power looks set to shake things up with its new spinoff, and it could be the franchise's best show yet. With six successful seasons to its name, Power finally came to a close in 2020, but the story didn't end there as the universe continued to expand with three unique spinoffs. Each series followed a character from the main show and continued to flesh out their journeys; however, Power Book II: Ghost and Book IV: Force's cancelation means there is only one ongoing spinoff, but a new one is on the way.

Marvel's most powerful hero of all time is making his official debut in its main timeline, combining the powers of the Sentry, Iron Fist and the Hulk. This level of strength has usually been confined to hypothetical stories and alternate realities, but now it's making landfall on Earth-616, where the mainstream versions of the Avengers, X-Men and more will have to deal with being replaced as the planet's ultimate superhuman protectors.
The hero in question is Power Man - a future version of Luke Cage who has collected an immense array of powers, including Hulk's immense gamma strength and Sentry's ability to control reality on the molecular level. Introduced in a dark potential future, Power Man's final battle broke time and space, leaving his broken body stranded in the mainstream Marvel Universe. In a new series coming 2025, he's finally healed, and ready to tour the solar system with unbelievable power.

Wrong…they soon discover the island is home to a deadly cult that worships zombies and follows in their practices (meaning they eat people). Anime is a highly visual medium, even more so than its corresponding source material. Stunning animation creates opportunities to recreate the best manga panels, bringing them to life in an even more memorable fashion. Although a scene is sometimes captured better in the anime than in the manga, the most memorable symbols of franchises across both mediums tend to be iconic poses.
The most iconic anime poses emphasize important actions in their stories and are recognizable even by their silhouettes alone. One widely popular anime posing style includes hand signs, like those used by Naruto shinobi, which are often associated with a specific attack or power-up. Countless other posing tropes have become part of anime culture, but the most iconic poses are easy to recreate, recognizable, and one-of-a-kind.

Warning: Contains Spoilers for Power Girl #12!There are a lot of romances throughout the history of superhero comics, including for Power Girl. For some fans, romance is the sole reason to read a comic: to be able to "ship" two beloved characters together in a new way. Superhero stories usually only leave room, however, for brief love affairs in between alien assualts on earth, and not a lot of time for the real stuff of romance: dumb cute dates, like Power Girl's with Axel Gust.

Although Power ended in 2020 after six successful seasons, the crime drama has continued through spinoffs, and there are several characters who deserve the chance to lead their own show. With the franchise confirming that a Tommy and Ghost Power prequel is in the works, Starz's hit series clearly isn't going anywhere as the universe looks like it will continue to expand. Despite debuting over a decade ago, Power still has more stories to tell, meaning there are a number of characters that could be brought back and given their own spotlight through a spinoff.
While Raising Kanan is expected to continue, Power Book II: Ghost and Book IV: Force's cancelation sets up room for more projects. Raising Kanan's popularity alongside the announcement of Power Book V: Origins suggests the franchise isn't afraid to go down the prequel route and follow characters who have already died, opening up all kinds of possibilities for the future.

When Power begins, before we see anything onscreen, we hear the voice of director Yance Ford, preparing the audience for information about the police that may be difficult to swallow. For those of us who have been politically radicalized — either in the past during landmark events like the Rodney King riots or the recent present in the wake of the brutal murder of George Floyd — what we see in Ford’s tightly edited 85-minute documentary feature may not be surprising. But for the vast majority of people in America, the police are still considered trustworthy arbiters of law and order dedicated to keeping us safe. That is why, during the 2020 protests, “abolish the police” was quickly rebranded by liberal pundits as “defund the police.” Even with this softer message, the public outcry fell on deaf ears. And soon, the movement faltered.

“Police power is immediate power.” These opening words from Redditt Hudson––former police officer and co-founder of the National Coalition of Law Enforcement Officers for Justice, Reform, and Accountability––haunt and inform the entirety of Yance Ford’s Power. Ford actually opens the film over black, informing viewers that what they are about to see is “an analysis of police history that I’d like you to consider.” At the very least, curiosity is required to consider the facts that will come next.
It’s a straightforward, provocative opening. And Ford’s right to put all their cards on the table. This is a fraught time in America, and directly explaining to those watching that the U.S.A. in fact is, and has been, a police state will be blasphemous for many who stumble upon Power on Netflix. Remember: the fan-favorite The Clone Wars Nightsister villain was a staple of that TV series…until she was killed offscreen during the show’s long hiatus, in the pages of the novel Dark Disciple by Christie Golden. In that 2015 novel, Asajj, operating as more of an anti-hero than a straight up dark sider, sacrificed herself to save the man she loved, the rogue Jedi Quinlan Vos, from Count Dooku. At the end of the book, Asajj is returned to the waters of Dathomir, where the Nightsisters lay the dead to rest.
Here’s the problem: this all happened during the Clone Wars era, some time before the events of Revenge of the Sith.

Characters must bring a fresh perspective and complex relationships to the Power universe to warrant a spin-off. Backstories and origin stories are on the table for any character involved in the Power universe. Exploring the missing years and lives of characters like Felipe, Marvin, Claudia, D-Mac, Diamond, Unique, Cane, and Liliana would make compelling spin-offs.
The Power Universe has a complex web of interconnecting stories and spin-offs, making many characters fair game to have their own show if they are compelling enough. Plenty of characters have already crossed between different series, shedding light on their character motivations and development. To warrant having a spin-off, a character must bring a new outlook to the franchise and have their own set of complex relationships to introduce new voices to the story.

Background characters in the MCU often suffer gruesome deaths, adding a tone of brutality to the lighthearted franchise. Unlike main characters, these background characters don't have the luxury of resurrection, making their deaths even more tragic. From being consumed by a blob to having their souls eaten, these deaths highlight the disturbing and harrowing aspects of the MCU.
Some of the worst MCU deaths in the franchise's history have happened to its main players, but it can be easy to forget that many background characters have been on the receiving end of some particularly gruesome fates. These tone-changing moments can often feel especially brutal in a franchise that is largely quite lighthearted, often working to establish a level of threat that goes beyond typical death-dealing methods. Unfortunately for these background characters, they unwittingly took the role of the cannon fodder through which this threat can be demonstrated.

Griselda is inspired by the life of the savvy and ambitious Griselda Blanco, who created one of the most profitable cartels in history.
In 1970s-80s Miami, Blanco's lethal blend of unsuspected savagery and charm helped her expertly navigate between business and family, leading her to become widely known as "the Godmother."

Just two days before a restart to stalled negotiations, Writers Guild leaders had an emotional meeting with a diverse group of Hollywood showrunners, which included Courtney Kemp and Yvette Lee Bowser, seeking progress toward ending the crippling strike now in its fifth month, TheWrap has learned.
“It was a meeting to voice frustration,” said an individual with knowledge of the meeting that took place Monday at the WGA headquarters in Los Angeles. “To say: We’re writers but we’re also management and our people are living out of their cars. They’re giving blood plasma for groceries.”
The meeting was intended to touch base ahead of the negotiating committee going into talks, after which they go dark, said another individual with knowledge of the meeting. “It was honest and positive in tone,...

The following contains spoilers for the Chainsaw Man manga.
Author Tatsuki Fujimoto's hit shonen manga series Chainsaw Man is now considered part of the unofficial but widely recognized "dark trio" alongside two other dark shonen series, Jujutsu Kaisen and Hell's Paradise. All three of those series have strong horror elements, graphic combat scenes, and personal arcs that involve grief, betrayal, revenge, and generally feeling lost in the world. These are grim storylines, but they're also highly compelling.
Each "dark trio" member has cool plotlines and subplots that prove why these series are three of a kind. While Jujutsu Kaisen had the plot about Junpei Yoshino's tragic demise and Hell's Paradise forced Sagiri to think hard about her place in an unfair society, Chainsaw Man had even bloodier and darker plotlines that made it the most subversive and twisted shonen series airing today.

The bond between an Aes Sedai and her Warder is something truly special in The Wheel of Time. Bonded by the One Power, their feelings, successes, and losses are all shared in a marriage of sorts that seems unshakable. In Season 2, however, that dynamic has shifted for Moiraine (Rosamund Pike) and her Warder Lan (Daniel Henney). After being separated from the One Power and her connection to Lan, Moiraine is closed off and even downright cold toward her once closest companion. Prior to the WGA/SAG-AFTRA strike, Collider's Carly Lane spoke with Pike about the changes in Moiraine's behavior around Lan and why her coldness was a necessary evil for the both of them.

For a guy so desperate to find a girlfriend, the focus of Chainsaw Man's Denji on Makima, a woman he shared very little in common with, destroyed any possibility of finally realizing his dream and finding someone more suitable, and less dangerous for him like.
Growing up with an abusive father and in a dysfunctional childhood setting where he had to rely on himself for survival, it is clear that Denji has a number of emotional issues impacting his life. Among those issues is his deep need to be loved, an emotion he has yet to truly enjoy. For Denji, the need to be loved has both a mental and physical element. After meeting Makima, Denji comes to the conclusion that she was the answer to his "love" issues. She was good-looking, approachable; and most importantly, she seems to like and care about him. Denji didn't let his infatuation with...

Superman is successfully improving Metropolis through initiatives like Steelworks and his new role at LexCorp, using his resources for the city's benefit. While Batman has tried to evolve Gotham and make it safer, his villains actively want to destroy the city, making it difficult to progress. The different natures of their villains and situations determine why Superman and his family can push Metropolis into the future, while Batman and his struggle to keep Gotham from collapsing.
There are many iconic locations in the DC Universe, but few are as famous as Gotham City and Metropolis, which are protected by Batman and Superman along with their respective families. But it turns out that Superman is a lot better at not just protecting his city, but improving it.
The Bat-Family and Superman Family have been doing their best to protect and improve their equivalent cities for decades, but it seems Superman...

Review Kylie Peters Jan 14, 2013
This week's Once Upon A Time is pacey, well-written and packed with satisfying action. Here's Kylie's review...
This review contains spoilers.
2.11 The Outsider
Reading saves the day! It’s a Belle-centric episode of OUaT and finally, finally she gets to stop playing hero-bait long enough to do a little butt-kicking of her own.
This was a fabulous episode. The balance of action, character development, and plot movement kept it going at a brisk pace. If every episode of OUaT were like this, I could just write “Zomg awesome” a few times every week and slash my review-writing time to nothing.
Okay, so that’s an exaggeration. It was a little disappointing that there was no Bae this week, and the ending was sort of a buzz-kill after all that “I am Belle, hear me roar.” But I am willing to forgive all ills. The writing was clean and fresh,...

It seems that since Raj Kumar Santoshi’s The Outsider with Amitabh Bachchan has been temporarily postponed, Santoshi has decided to go forward with another film, still with Big B. The director has moved to another crime thriller for producer Firoz Nadiadwala, a contemporary issue based film titled Power. Says Santoshi, “It’s an out-and-out action film. I won’t disclose the story but it’s about clash between power of anger, lies and truth." The film also stars Sanjay Dutt, Anil Kapoor and Ajay Devgn, which Amitabh wrote on Twitter was the "awesome foursome of Power". Santoshi has indeed a powerhouse star cast for his Power movie. According to Santoshi, it was easy to get this group of some of the best together: "I just gave them the basic storyline. I did not have the script yet, but even then, all of them said yes to me. They gave...
