Biography

Mexican film producer. She produced I Dream in Another Language by Ernesto Contreras, winner of the Audience Award at Sundance 2017 and of six Mexican Academy Awards Ariel including Best Picture, among other prizes and nominations. She also produced Un mundo secreto (A Secret World) which premiered at Berlinale in 2012. Her first feature film Párpados Azules (Blue Eyelids) won the Ariel for Best First Work and the Mayahuel Award for Best Ibero-American Feature Film at Guadalajara International Film Festival, besides being a Golden Camera's nominee at Cannes. With Newborn, Ávila reaffirms her commitment to produce auteur's films with strong points of view that moves the audience.
