Last Christmas, we heard that Patrick Bergin (EastEnders) had signed on to star in a holiday horror film called Nutcracker, which Rebecca Matthews (The Gardener) was directing from a screenplay by Joe Knetter (Blind) that was based on a story by executive producer Jeff Miller (Once Upon a Time in Deadwood). That movie has now been released through the Tubi streaming service under the even more appealing title Nutcracker Massacre. Executive produced by Commando director Mark L. Lester, Nutcracker Massacre follows a struggling novelist who visits her family for Christmas and finds a mysterious, life-size Nutcracker doll, which soon becomes possessed and wreaks havoc.

Dark Star & Uncork'd Ent. have revealed an official US trailer for a film called Mascarpone, which is the cheesy (literally) alternate US title for this. The original Italian title is Maschile Singolare, which translates directly to Masculine Singular. Antonio is a family man whose life takes an unexpected twist when he’s suddenly dumped by his husband. Antonio now needs to find a new place to stay, a job and a new purpose in life: through this process, he discovers the value of independence. The film stars Sarah T. Cohen, Alistair Stoneman, Jamila Martin-Wingett, Ray Whelan, Ricardo Freitas, Nicola Wright, and Tony Goodall. "A lovely coming-of-age film that wears its heart on its sleeve, Mascarpone has been a hit on the festival hit and we're confident it’ll be just as much a success in its" release, the distributors state.

What a shocker, another Scott Jeffrey produced horror getting reviewed on Nerdly… I think we must have reviewed at least 80 of Jeffrey’s output across the handful of production companies he has. There seems to be so many low budget British gangster/revenge thriller movies released every year you’d be forgiven to be at all bothered about any of them. It’s not a genre of movies I cover a lot of yet it seems I get emails about a new release almost weekly. So to say I was excited about Nothing Man would be a lie. That said, the brief synopsis I read before viewing it did at least sound more intriguing than most.

The synopsis described a homeless amnesiac searching for answers to his best friends murder, even if it opens up questions about his own past.

Blood Myth is one of those awful generic horror movie titles that doesn’t garner any interest from me. But with that said, I know better than to judge a book by its cover, well a film by its title, so as usual went in hoping for the best.
