Matt Dean is the president and CEO of Cakewalk, a full service Production and Post Production facility in Burbank California.

Matt recently produced the number one vertical series on Salty TV "My Ex's Best Friends" and the soon to be released live-action, interactive dating game "The Fame Game: Welcome to Hollywood" in partnership with Snail Games.

Matt's career in film and TV began at WSET an ABC affiliate in Virginia where he worked as a news reporter, cameraman and editor. Matt later worked at KPTV in Portland, Oregon before moving to Fort Myers, Florida where he directed and edited on documentaries and commercials at Dreamtime Entertainment.

In 2007, Matt moved to Los Angeles where he worked as the art director for a start up distribution company Unistar . After Unistar dissolved, Matt went on to produce the low budget teen thriller The Devil Within (2010) which premiered the first feature film performances of Grey Damon (Aquarius, Star Crossed), and Bill Oberst Jr. (Criminal Minds, 1000 ways to die).

In 2010 Matt formed Matt Dean Films Inc, a post production company which became a go to post company for independent producers for films like Girl Unbound: The War to Be Her (2016), The Unwilling (2016), Children of Beqaa (2018), Across the Ice: The Greenland Victory March (2014). Using the experiences on numerous film projects, Matt Dean partnered with long time friend Julia Verdin on writing a book "Success in Film" to help producers navigate the difficult waters of film-making.

For portions of 2015 and 2016 Matt worked as an adjunct professor for Columbia College Hollywood teaching editing and production. In 2018, Matt added a distribution branch to the production company which represented numerous documentaries, feature films and TV series in the global market.

Matt opened Cakewalk Post as a Post Services Company partnering with Smart Post Sound and working on films Like How the Gringo Stole Christmas (2023) for Lionsgate/ Grindstone, and then expanded into a production company during his partnership with Snail Games and Salty TV.
