Songwriter ("When the Angelus is Ringing"), composer and pianist, a charter member of ASCAP (1914), and a vaudeville pianist. He claimed to have performed in the first musical broadcast (Roselle Park, NJ). His chief musical collaborators included Joe Young, Sam Lewis and Harry Williams, and his other popular-song compositions included "In the Light of the Same Old Moon", "I'm the Guy", "Don't Blame It All on Broadway", "If I Knock the 'L' Out of Kelly", "Let Bygones Be Bygones", "The Broadway Glide", and "Along the Rocky Road to Dublin".
