Of Anishinabe and French heritage, Derica Lafrance resides in North Bay, Ontario and is a member of Nipissing First Nation.

Derica is a talented singer/songwriter and guitarist, and began performing at the age of 3.

She began her acting journey in musical theatre, but fell in love with film during her first experience on set as SSE on hit tv series Shoresy.
