Jon Liggett (better known as Yawn) is an American-trained actor with deep roots in the vibrant Bay Area arts scene. Raised in a creative, free-spirited family, he began his performance journey with the world-renowned Santa Clara Vanguard Drum and Bugle Corps, earning the title of Drum Corps International World Champion. His early artistic pursuits included starting a rock band and working at the iconic Plant Recording Studios alongside legendary artists like Metallica, Primus, and Deftones.
Never one to follow a conventional path, Jon also joined the circus-literally-performing juggling, baritone and acrobatics with acclaimed performers Geoff Hoyle and Larry Pisoni.
His formal acting education began at the esteemed Foothill College Conservatory, continued at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco, and culminated in a theater degree from San Francisco State University. He appeared in a documentary on Behavior and Physical Actions, inspired by Sonya Moore's teachings, and assistant directed a comedic short that premiered at the 2006 Reeling Film Festival in Chicago.
As the founder of Magoo's Umbrella Productions LLC, Jon continues to push creative boundaries across media. He narrated the audio-book series Dance of the Goblins (available on Amazon) and portrayed the character Celery in the indie film The Holy Trinity. He works as a voice-over artist, known for his love of dialects and his dynamic, character-driven narration style.
