Sibo Yan
- Actor
Sibo Yan spent his early childhood in the vibrant city Hong Kong until he was 11, when his family moved to San Diego and where he went on to complete high school. Growing up, he was a highly ranked junior golfer, traveling around the world for tournaments. Sibo attended Arizona State University, and is now based in Los Angeles, California. He is fluent in both English and Mandarin, holding dual citizenship of the United States/Hong Kong.
He grew up doing school plays and playing different sports, but what really inspired him to pursue acting as a career was the feeling he had leaving the theater after watching movies like Crazy Rich Asians, Ford vs Ferrari, and Once Upon A Time in Hollywood. He felt a burning sensation to be part of these intricate, and inspiring masterpieces, and knows the impact he can make in the Film/Television world by bringing his vast exposure to different people and cultures.
Despite an industry slump coinciding with the time he started going out for auditions, Sibo has been able to book and work on numerous Indie Feature/Short Films since October 2023, only 2 months after his first audition. He is grateful to have had multiple complex leading role characters, and has loved every minute of working on set! He hopes to continue working on creative projects, and represent Asian Americans in a unique light.
Being a highly curious and observant person, he has always been fascinated with human psychology and how a person's environment shapes them. Determined to bring the discipline and endless pursuit of improvement instilled through his golf days , Sibo has been training consistently with esteemed teachers at the Margie Haber Studio, Speiser Sturges Studio, and with Deborah Maxwell Dion. He watches at least 1 movie a day and reads as many scripts as he can to practice breaking down stories.
