Mari Cielo Pajares is a Spanish filmmaker from Madrid, Spain. Daughter of the actor and director Andrés Pajares and the actress Asunción Alonso.
Maria is a director, writer, actress and producer. With more than 20 years in the industry, she has obtained 14 awards and 57 nominations at international festivals around the world, including the Razor Reel Flanders Film Festival in Bruges, Las Americas Film Festival and the Macabre Faire Film Festival in New York, Tabloid Witch Awards, Wind International Film Festival in Los Angeles... She began acting at the age of 17, accumulating 8 years of experience with the Valencian classic company, playing roles such as La Doña Inés in Don Juan Tenorio, Artemis in the Court of the Pharaoh... At the age of 18 she began working at Channel 7, being in charge of writing scripts, editing and presenting a 2-hour daily show live. She has starred in the series Arrayán ( 2004 -2007) for several years on Canal Sur, in the role of Marga. She has produced and directed short films, movies, late nite both in Spain and the United States. She has lived 8 years in Los Angeles (California) where, among other works, he starred in the national series "7 Lives Xposed" (2014) has written more than 30 scripts and published 4 books, one of them, "Memorias de una Puta" for the prestigious Grupo Planeta.
Mari Cielo Pajares is also the founder, along with Gary Anthony Stennette, of the international film festival "iFilmmaker International Film Festival" (2015) in Marbella, which in its first edition had 1,223 films registered among which productions from Paramount, Sony, Ridley Scott among others.
Her independent company "MakingNoizeFilms" created in Los Angeles is now betting on a science fiction series "Styx", which is (2025) being filmed in Spain in English. An anthology with a format similar to "The Twilight Zone", "The Alfred Hitchcock Hour" and "Stories to keep you awake". Series that she has written, directs and plays some of the characters. Currently (2025) she has just published her latest fiction novel "Oleo" with the Círculo Rojo Editorial.
