Help! I Just Released My Masterpiece — and It Got Crushed at the Box Office By a Cartoon
Dear Remy,
This week, I released into the world my greatest work — a film that transcends mere storytelling. It is a tour de force of cinematic mastery, blending ancient texts and philosophical musings with cutting-edge audience interaction. Imagine the vastness of Homer, the intellectual rigor of Dante, and the cinematic flair of Kubrick, but modern and for the people. The film wrestles with humanity’s darkest desires — the corrupting nature of power, the danger of discovery and, naturally, the existential dread lurking in our souls. I painstakingly crafted each frame as though it were a brushstroke on a canvas meant to be hung in the Louvre. This was not just a movie — it was art.
And yet … somehow, the box office champion this week is an animated feature, complete with talking animals. I’m flummoxed.

One of Valorant‘s most popular game modes is getting disabled thanks to issues with an upcoming patch, and the fan reception is far from good.
The severity of the reaction might warrant Riot Games completely skipping the upcoming patch to keep it in, as people are using the opportunity to bring up another fan-favorite game mode that was silently removed, never to return.
Valorant Is Disabling a Popular Game Mode
According to an official announcement from Valorant‘s X/Twitter account, Escalation is getting the boot in Patch 9.01. This goes live on 16 July 2024, just around the corner from the console release.
The 5v5 team deathmatch mode might be one of the most popular ones. You get to play as a random agent while cycling through many different weapons and abilities.
