Snæfríður Ingvarsdóttir

Snaefridur Ingvarsdottir was born in Reykjavik, Iceland in 1992. She was 11 years old when she played the significant role of Gottina in the award-winning film Cold Light, 2004. From a very young age, she studied classical ballet and contemporary dance, and after years of training at the National Ballet School of Iceland and the Iceland Academy of the Arts, she turned her interest from dance to acting. Snaefridur graduated as an actress from the Iceland Academy of the Arts in 2016 and from that point on she has worked intensively in Iceland both on stage, on TV, and in film. She is greatly acknowledged for her latest film work, playing the title role "Alma" by Kristin Johannesdottir. The film was Iceland's contribution to the Nordic film prize 2021. Other works include the role of Hrönn in season 3 of Trapped (2021), Mihkel (2018), I short (2018), and the comic role of Andrea in Eurogardurinn (2020). Snaefridur was only 11 years old when she received an Edda nomination for her role in Cold Light in 2004. She received a nomination at the Icelandic Theatre Awards (Gríman) for her debut role as Gerdur in the Icelandic play "The Devil's Island" at the National Theater of Iceland. Snaefridur has acted in numerous productions at the National Theater of Iceland since she graduated from drama school in 2016. She is recognized for her distinctive and lush singing voice which has made its way into countless musical productions and led Snaefridur recently to write her own music.
