Unfortunately, the numbers runner and crime boss learns the hard way that you cannot be half a gangster.

A sci-fi series starring Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista is getting new attention on Apple TV+. The show, called See, was one of the very first original series released by Apple TV+. It premiered alongside other early Apple shows like The Morning Show, For All Mankind, and Dickinson.
Despite the big launch, See didn’t become as popular as Apple probably hoped. After three seasons, it ended in 2022 and was mostly forgotten.
But recently, See has been climbing back up in Apple TV+’s streaming charts. According to Cbr, the show is currently in the top ten worldwide on Apple TV+, even reaching number seven on June 12. Other popular shows like Ted Lasso, Severance, and Your Friends and Neighbors are also on the list. Interestingly, See is the oldest show on the list, having premiered a year before Ted Lasso.

Books and TV shows have had a special relationship for over a century now. There have been countless TV adaptations of popular books, and even if we count this year (which isn’t over), there have been over seven or eight. While there have been many brilliant books that were adapted through the years, that doesn’t necessarily mean that the TV shows are also good, and that’s why we decided to compile a list of the absolute best TV shows that were based on books. As a side note, we also decided not to include Game of Thrones and Dexter, mainly because of how they ended.

The champ has entered the building for this week's episode of Godfather of Harlem Season 4, and he's here to talk some sense into Jerome Greene (Elijah Wright). Collider can exclusively share a new sneak peek at Episode 8 of the MGM+ crime drama, titled "If We Must Die," which sees Mayme Johnson (Ilfenesh Hadera) leverage none other than The Greatest himself, Muhammad Ali, embodied once again by The Rookie and All American star Deric Augustine, to get through to the young man before he makes a life-changing decision. Delia's (Roslyn Ruff) son is drafted to fight in Vietnam like many others, but the Black Panthers aren't about to sit idly by. The hope is that the legendary boxer, who himself took a stand against the war, will be able to find some common ground with him.

As FBI: Most Wanted prepared to say goodbye following an untimely cancellation, the show started crafting endings for some of its characters. A lot of focus was given on Barnes' (Roxy Sternberg) next pursuits in the final episodes of the season. It was strongly insinuated that she would leave the Fugitive Task Force for a desk job so that she could be close to her children. However, in the series finale, it was revealed that she would take over the Fugitive Task Force following Remy Scott's (Dylan McDermott) retirement. It was a surprising development, but it was done to keep the character consistent. "After her divorce, the question for Barnes in Season 6 was, who am I?" showrunner David Hudgins told TV Insider after the show's final episode. "In the end, she decided that she could never do a desk job; she is happiest when being a ‘cop’ and taking bad guys off the street.

Uh-oh, this isn’t good! Hana (Keisha Castle-Hughes) and Ethan (Michael Raymond-James) end up in some serious trouble in the next FBI: Most Wanted episode, airing March 11, and TV Insider has your exclusive first look. In the latest episode, Ethan revealed the reason for the pills she’d found: He’d nearly broken his back when he was in the Marines when he slipped during an urban warfare exercise and fell almost 50 feet. He was prescribed pills, and he became addicted. She made him promise he’d get clean, using an in-person detox program at the Va. Might there be hope for Hana (Keisha Castle-Hughes) and Ethan (Michael Raymond-James) on FBI: Most Wanted? She seemed ready to write him off after learning he’s been taking pills, but in TV Insider’s exclusive sneak peek of the February 25 episode, there may be a glimmer of hope. It was two episodes ago that Remy (Dylan McDermott) asked what was going on. “I miss him like crazy,” she admitted, though he wasn’t on her mind at the time. She could’ve ended up in the foster system like the fugitives they were after at the time; she can’t imagine what it’s like to feel unwanted and knows they were solid ground for one another. Ethan was that for Hana, too, but she never told him. “What you said, this dude needs help. Be careful,” Remy warned. Now, in our exclusive clip, Ethan stops by Hana’s after she invites him over.

Remember the days when buddy cop shows were the bread and butter of American television?
From Starsky & Hutch to Miami Vice, the genre gave us mismatched partners who bickered, bantered, and ultimately brought down the bad guys.
It was escapism at its finest — a world of fast cars, sharp one-liners, and explosive finales.
Starsky & Hutch (ABC/Screenshot)
But over the years, the buddy cop genre has faded from the U.S. small screen.
Don’t worry, though; it’s alive and well — it just packed its bags and went global.
A Brief History of Buddy Cop Glory
The buddy cop formula hit its stride in the 1980s and 1990s, an era when the appeal of Lethal Weapon and Beverly Hills Cop carried over from the big screen to TV.
Shows like Starsky & Hutch and Cagney & Lacey offered variations on the theme, combining humor, action, and, occasionally, a dash of drama.

The final moments of the “FBI: Most Wanted” Season 6 premiere found Fugitive Task Force leader Remy Scott (Dylan McDermott) breaking down after apprehending — and being attacked by — a serial killer who’d escalated to a sniper shooting spree.
“I wanted to start the season with a very scary, terrifying, dangerous, formidable fugitive,” showrunner David Hudgins told TheWrap of the psychotically mother-obsessed killer played by Andrew Burnap.
As for showing Remy recovering from his injuries and being comforted by girlfriend Abby (Susan Misner), Hudgins said, “I wanted to ground the show, because the truth is, this is a dangerous job. And it’s not often that you go unscathed your whole career. I thought it was a nice moment of vulnerability for him with Abby as well.”
Remy will be fine after being punched in the jaw and rouged up, Hudgins assured us, walking away with merely a temporary case of tinnitus.

Fox's crime drama Prison Break ran for five original seasons in the mid to late 2000s and starred several actors with successful TV careers. Seeing the success of serialized shows like Lost and 24, the network had faith in the success of Prison Break. The series is set in prison and stars Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller as imprisoned brothers Lincoln Burrows and Michael Scofield. The former is accused of murder and sentenced to death, while the latter gets himself put in prison so he can break his brother out, believing he is innocent.
The thrills and originality established in Prison Break season 1 earned widespread acclaim. Though later seasons of Prison Break would struggle to return to a similar status, the series still had a strong fan base. The response from audiences prompted both a TV film based on the series' characters and a revival season in 2017. Many of Prison Break...

There’s an old rule in TV that when a show becomes a hit, you’re going to see copycats. So when Lost exploded onto TV screens as a monster success in 2004, it’s no shock that networks were quick to copy it. Sadly, too many of these would-be clones couldn’t come close to Lost’s success, failing to make their mythology or storytelling compelling enough for viewers and the majority didn’t last one season.
Yet there are a number of shows that can appeal to Lost fans. Most are pretty blatant in the setup of folks traveling and somehow trapped in a strange place. Others utilize some great mythology and are backed by a terrific cast to work well. With Lost on Netflix again, it’s time to enjoy the best of shows inspired by it, and these 15 shows definitely appeal to anyone who loves Lost’s unique storytelling style.

Law & Order: Organized Crime, which began airing in 2021, has had four seasons full of drug traffickers, money launderers, kidnappers, and murderers to contend with. Led by Ayanna Bell (Danielle Mon Truitt) and Elliot Stabler (Christopher Meloni), the Organized Crime Control Bureau (Occb) investigates crime related to criminal syndicates like the mob and other international gangs and drug rings. Other members of the Occb include Jet Slootmaekers (Ainsley Seiger), a detective who specializes in technology, and Bobby Reyes (Rick Gonzalez), who is best known for his undercover work.
The Occb has had several other members, including a couple who were killed in action, and they occasionally work with the Special Victims Unit, especially Stabler's former partner, Captain Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay). The hit ABC series Once Upon a Time included an abundance of interesting storylines, relationships, and, above all, characters. Almost all of the people in the show were characters from previous works of fiction. While the characters came from preexisting stories, that didn't stop Once Upon a Time from putting its own spin on the people of Storybrooke.
The series was a revolving door of characters, from Disney's Anna and Elsa to the Grimm Brothers' Snow Queen, but only a chosen few were able to take center stage throughout the majority of the series. Those chosen few were able to have a more fleshed-out backstory, relationships, and character growth compared to others. In short, the best characters in Once Upon a Time were those who saw the most development overall.
Updated by Joshua M. Patton on January 16, 2024: The Once Upon a Time series was an interesting experiment in storytelling and Disney's corporate vertical integration.

The world of television has never been more exciting than it is today. With an endless supply of content available at our fingertips, we're spoilt for choice when it comes to binge-worthy shows. But sometimes, a shorter series can be just as satisfying as a long-running one. In an age where binge-watching has become the norm, we often find ourselves lost in the labyrinth of multi-season dramas. While these shows can be incredibly rewarding, there's something to be said for a concise, well-crafted story that doesn't overstay its welcome. Sometimes, a short series can be a breath of fresh air, offering a unique perspective and telling a complete story in just a handful of episodes.
Some of the best one-season TV shows weren't meant to be that way. They were canceled after just one season, leaving fans wondering what could have been. But even though they didn't get the chance to continue,...

Director Robert Machoian follows up his well-received drama The Killing of Two Lovers with another low-budget but intriguing and original drama. In The Integrity of Joseph Chambers a man goes off hunting in the woods alone to seemingly prove something to his family, and himself, that he can ‘survive’ in the woods and be the ‘man’ of the house. It will come as no surprise that his irresponsibility leads him to a terrible situation.
First off, the movie looks fantastic. The cinematography is up there with the very best. I loved every shot of the woodland and the man walking around the woodland. I’m sure there’ll be some people who watch certain scenes and think that ‘nothing happens’. It’s just a guy walking through the woods,...

For our recent webchat he adds, “it was immediately apparent to us that by using the prism of the past, we could talk about things of contemporary relevance,” he explains. “What we also can see from the show is, on the one hand, things have changed greatly for African Americans. We’ve had an African American president. But on the other hand, things haven’t changed much at all, and so that’s what the show’s trying to articulate.” We talked with Brancato as part of Gold Derby’s special “Meet...

With the third season of See now streaming on Apple TV+, I recently participated in a group interview with Jason Momoa to talk about the making of the final season. During the interview, Momoa talked about why the series ended with Season 3, how they shot Season 2 and 3 back-to-back before he made Aquaman 2, what he learned about acting while making See, bringing in Michael Raymond-James, and having to loop the entire final fight scene and why he hated the process. In addition, he talks about filming the big final fight scene with second unit director Damon Caro, and why people like watching him punch villains in the face.
