The Boys Season 4 has been receiving criticism for its focus on the shock value over a compelling plot. However, one of the few storylines that impressed audiences this season would be A-Train’s redemption arc. Jessie T. Usher’s A-Train has undergone significant character development in the last few episodes, leading fans to speculate whether he will face his end soon.

A fight between Homelander and A-Train is inevitable in the series, and fans share their suggestions on how the fight should proceed. Fans don’t want a one-sided battle like the one between Omni-Man and Red Rush in Invincible. They would rather have a badass fight like the one between Ikaris and Makkari in Marvel’s Eternals.

Fans have no clue as to what Marvel has in store for them in the Multiverse Saga finale films, especially in Avengers: Secret Wars. From the current state of things, even Marvel seems to have little idea about their creative direction. But one fan-made video will make any Marvel fan happy as it provides a glimpse of what fans hope from a multiversal film.
A still from Avengers: Endgame | Marvel Studios
The fan video prominently featured Eternals, a set of immortal alien beings who were introduced after the Infinity Saga. While the appearance of this Marvel Comics race in Avengers: Secret Wars is not confirmed, the fan video makes them look cooler than in Chloé Zhao’s 2021 film.

Transformers One director Josh Cooley explained why they had to change Megatrons origin story as a gladiator in the upcoming animated prequel movie. Cooley is best known for his work on 2015s Inside Out and 2019s Toy Story 4, with the former earning him his first Oscar nomination for Best Original Screenplay.
During a recent interview with IndieWire, Cooley confirmed that theyve decided to change the characters original origin story in Transformers One, due to the films limited runtime of 90 minutes. "If we had all the time in the world, it wouldve been fun to show Megatron as a gladiator and have the two characters come from very different backgrounds," Cooley said. "We actually had a gladiator scene that alluded to this origin that was cut out." Instead of adapting Megatrons gladiator background, theyve just reimagined young versions of Optimus Prime and Megatron as roommates working as miners as part...

Marvel Studios still hasn't officially announced a sequel to Eternals, but rumors persist that a second film is in development - though, understandably, it may not be a priority for the studio right now.
MCU sequels are a regular occurrence, of course, but Eternals is the only Marvel Studios movie to drop to "rotten" status on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, and the divisive superhero epic finished up its U.S. run with a disappointing $164.9 million, giving it the lowest domestic haul of any McU-set movie aside from 2008's The Incredible Hulk ($134M).
Even so, the first film left quite a few dangling plot threads that still haven't been addressed, and it's difficult to imagine Kevin Feige would simply decide to forget about these characters.
Now, Alex Perez from My Cosmic Circus is reporting that the Eternals sequel is still in the works, but has been put on the "back burner" for the time being.

Kevin Feige and the Marvel franchise have given their fans a grand cinematic experience through the introduction of the MCU. Beginning in 2008 with Iron Man, the narratives which have been divided into films and series belonging to 6 phases, are now currently in Phase 5 now with a whole host of exciting projects lined up.
One of the unique features of the MCU has been its effort to link future plot lines through mid and post credit scenes in their various projects. But some of these segments from certain films and television series do not seem to be leading to any concrete development in the future storylines of the franchise.

The McU's slowed release schedule values quality over quantity to prevent mediocrity. Marvel's Blade reboot faces production struggles, which may lead to fans losing patience with minimal updates. Risky MCU projects could suffer from the reduced release plan's higher stakes.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been slowing down its release slate for a good reason, but the new pacing brings its own risks. After Phases 4 and 5 garnered mixed reviews, Marvel Studios announced they would be scaling back on their MCU release schedule. The studio is now opting to focus on quality over quantity, a decision that has been generally well-received after audiences have become fatigued with the number of mediocre MCU movie and TV releases. However, the cons of the MCUs newest release plan are starting to come to light.

Wesley Snipes recently responded to the reports surrounding the massive delay of the MCU reboot of Blade.
Last week, we learned that director Yann Demange had exited the project, making him the second filmmaker to have left the MCU movie and delaying it once again after years of remaining in development.
While the project remains on track with Mahershala Ali still attached to star, some fans can't help but wonder whether the movie is still happening considering the various behind-the-scenes changes that have occurred over the past few years.

Eternals' post-credits scene teased Blade's MCU debut in a future project featuring Black Knight and the Ebony Blade. However, this tease appears to have been forgotten. The MCU hasn't exploited the full potential of dark and mystical characters like Werewolf By Night, Elsa Bloodstone, Man-Thing, Moon Knight, Wong, Black Knight, and Blade. The McU's Blade solo movie has struggled to launch. In the meantime, Blade could have appeared in a Special Presentation alongside Black Knight, setting up an eventual Midnight Sons crossover.
Marvel's Blade is struggling to get off the ground, but Mahershala Ali's vampire-hunting hero could have already made his MCU debut in a different project. Eric Brooks is one of the most famous characters in Marvel Comics' occult repertoire. Better known as Blade, Eric Brooks faces all kinds of dark and mystical threats, coming into conflict with villains such as Deacon Frost, Michael Morbius, and Dracula himself.

Despite their powers, each Eternal's abilities vary in usefulness against MCU threats like Thanos. Ajak's healing, Sprite's illusions, & Druig's mind control make them limited in helping against Thanos. However, Kingo's energy blasts and Gilgamesh's strength could be assets in fighting the Mad Titan.
The Eternals were introduced to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2021, creating a team many said would have been helpful in the fight against Thanos during Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. Inserting the large cast of characters in Eternals into the MCU retroactively has had challenges, requiring reasons to justify why the Eternals could not have joined the fight in previous Avengers sequels. With a possible sequel on the horizon, it is worth interrogating each character's abilities and how those could integrate into an MCU team.

Eternals villain Kro has potential, but he ended up feeling underwhelming in the final MCU film. Early concept art shows Kro as a horror movie monster, different from his final look, hinting at a missed opportunity for a more impactful character. The decision to tone down Kro's appearance for Eternals may have been to appeal to a wider audience, but a scarier design could have made him more memorable.
When Kro appeared in Phase 4 via 2021's Eternals, he proved to be underwhelming but he was very nearly a terrifying villain more fearsome to behold than anything else in the MCU. There was no question that when he first did battle with Eternals' cast of superheroes, he seemed to combine immense power with a menacing appearance. What If? An Immersive Story features Starfox's return three years after his introduction in Eternals' post-credits scene, this time not played by Harry Styles. Harry Styles appears to be taking a break from acting, but that doesn't mean he won't play Starfox if the MCU ever brings the character back. What If...? seasons 1 and 2 have recast multiple characters exclusively for their animated appearances.
Three years after Eternals, Harry Styles' Eros a.k.a. Starfox appears for the first time in an MCU project, but this time played by a new actor. Eternals introduced more than a dozen characters early in the McU's Multiverse Saga, including the ten titular heroes, the Deviants, and the Celestials. Eternals' post-credits scene also featured the MCU debut of two eccentric heroes: Harry Styles' Eternal hero Starfox and Patton Oswalt's mystical creature Pip the Troll, who meet Makkari, Druig, and Thena as they leave Earth in their mothership.

Kro, a powerful and fascinating villain in Eternals, was wasted and became forgettable. The MCU won't bring back Kro, leaving his story as a one-time occurrence in Eternals. Kro's unique design, abilities, and connection to Arishem hinted at a potential special villain role.

The McU's new Avengers face a worrying trend with the audience failing to show the same enthusiasm for fresher faces as the original Infinity Saga heroes. The Disney-acquired Star Wars live-action lore is unarguably really trying to tighten its grip around the fandom. However, that doesn’t seem to be working, considering fans’ reaction to its latest and upcoming series, with very few series and fans as an exception. Marvel Studios’ Eternals had quite the potential to be the next big ensemble hero-featured hit franchise of its own. But the failure of the movie altered the wind of it in a different direction. Doctor Who episode hints at Ruby Sunday's connection to past Fifth Doctor story, possibly with immortal beings known as Eternals. Maestro's fear of The One Who Waits implies connection to classic series villains like the Black Guardian and White Guardian. Introduction of the Pantheon sets the stage for the return of the Eternals and other immortal beings in modern Doctor Who.
One theory about the origins of Doctor Who's Ruby Sunday suggests she might be connected to a classic Fifth Doctor (Peter Davison) story. Davison played the Doctor from 1981 to 1984, leaving the role five years before the classic series was canceled. The 2005 reboot offers hour-long, self-contained episodes rather than serialized stories broken into 30-minute episodes, but is still meant to be a continuation of the original series and sometimes makes references to people and events from the past.

Rumors suggest upcoming Marvel movies like Captain America or Avengers may dive deeper into the Eternals storyline.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has finally addressed Eternals' Celestial plot hole about Tiamut thanks to She-Hulk: Attorney At Law episode 2. The McU's upcoming Blade movie has been plagued with production issues, but a good Blade movie shouldn't be hard to make. Blade follows Eric Brooks, a human/vampire hybrid (Daywalker) who hunts down other vampires in an attempt to eradicate them all. The Blade reboot to be set in the MCU was first announced in 2019. The new Blade movie starring Mahershala Ali is expected to be released in November 2025 and will be the first Blade movie since Blade: Trinity came out in 2004.
Blade is part of Phase Six of the ongoing Multiverse Saga for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The character first appeared in the post-credit scene of Eternals as he, off-screen, briefly interacts with Kit Harrington's Black Knight. Nothing has come about for that post-credit scene yet, and it is the only acknowledgment of Blade in the MCU so far. When the dust settles and Blade finally releases, it...

What Happened To The MCU?
This… well, this used to be one of the most reliable franchises in Hollywood, and now it’s not.
Let us explain.
For over a decade, it felt like the Marvel Cinematic Universe was on top of the world. Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige and his rotating crew of filmmakers churned out one hit after another, with each new movie in the MCU guaranteed to be one of the biggest of the year.
So what went wrong?
After what might be the most significant event in cinema history — Avengers: Endgame — the Marvel Cinematic Universe was primed for a reset. Many of the old characters were out, passing the baton to some new faces.

While Marvel only has one theatrical release this year with Deadpool and Wolverine, 2025 seems to be a packed year for the franchise. Apart from Captain America: Brave New World and The Fantastic Four, the MCU will also see Mahershala Ali’s Blade making it to the big screens in November 2025.
After multiple delays due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes and key personnel changes, Ali’s Blade is reportedly headed for filming in the summer. Ma Dong-seok has been getting a lot of attention from the media in the last few years. While his work in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has certainly helped get his name out there, it was his iconic series, The Roundup, that helped his face get recognized. The Celestial's emergence in Eternals demands Marvel's urgent attention, as Earth's fate hangs in the balance. The comic book solution involves Galactus as the Celestials' nemesis, which could take place in the MCU. If Galactus appears in Fantastic Four, or soon after, we may learn more about the Celestials and the plan to remove the one currently on Earth.
Does everyone remember when a celestial semi-emerged from the Indian Ocean and reached out of the atmosphere in Eternals? Because it seems like the folks at Marvel Studios completely forgot. So what needs to happen to get the people behind the MCU to remember that the literal Earth hangs in the balance?
These questions have been around for seven films, including Spider-Man: No Way Home, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Thor: Love and Thunder, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,...

Julia Garner's Shalla-Bal in Fantastic Four could resolve Phase 4 cliffhangers linked to Eternals storyline & Celestials. Shalla-Bal's possible ties to Galactus & Eternals offer MCU future plot potential. Marvel can use Shalla-Bal to continue Eternals' storyline without making a full sequel following the team's divisive debut.

For a lot of MCU fans, and Black Widow fans in particular, one of the most baffling choices the movies have made so far came in "Avengers: Endgame," when Black Widow/Natasha (Scarlett Johannsen) and Hawkeye/Clint (Jeremy Renner) tried to throw themselves off a cliff before the other could do it first. The cliff-jumping part made sense — one of them needed to die to save the world, and it was in character for both of them to sacrifice themself so the other could live. The questionable part was when Natasha successfully stopped Clint and flung herself to her death. It was a sad yet heroic end for her character, sure, but on a meta-level, wouldn't it make more sense for the movie to kill Clint?
No disrespect to Clint of course, but he was the less interesting of the two Avengers. He served his role well and had a heartwarming friendship with Natasha,...

Upon its release, Chloé Zhao’s Eternals made history by becoming the first Marvel Cinematic Universe film to have received a Rotten score on Rotten Tomatoes. Currently, the film sits at a meager rating of 47%. However, having given a 77% score, the audience clearly does not agree with the critics and believes that the film was not really as bad as they are saying. Many fans would agree that while Eternals was not one of the MCU’s greatest works, it still was an entertaining one-time watch, at least.

I’ll start with an important disclaimer for all readers since the following hot take will inevitably trigger strong reactions. As someone from a small European country and born in 1994, Ghostbusters (1984) was never a defining classic of my childhood or adolescence, so I don’t feel the nostalgia that many others have for the original film, although I do enjoy it. That said, I (re)watched it, along with Ghostbusters II and Ghostbusters: Afterlife this week in preparation for Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, and – here it comes – I consider the 2021 sequel my favorite movie in the famous franchise. In fact, comparing it directly with the original – here it comes again – beyond the inevitable audiovisual improvements, I find Afterlife to have better humor, characters, and cast.

Marvel Studios hasn't yet confirmed the development of a sequel to Chloé Zhao's Eternals, but the team could reappear in several other potential MCU projects. Despite its divisive nature, Eternals set up many huge events for the McU's future, including Arishem's judgment of Earth and the emergence of the Celestial Tiamut. The Eternals could reappear in potential MCU projects such as Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 4, Thor 5, or adaptations of Marvel Comics' Annihilation and Judgment Day events.

As shown by an MCU fan on Reddit, every MCU movie released so far features at least one Oscar winner, except for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Robert Downey Jr.'s 2024 Oscar win retroactively gives Avengers: Age of Ultron its only Academy Award winner. The MCU continues to attract top-tier actors, with upcoming Phase 5 projects featuring Oscar-nominated performers such as Hugh Jackman, Harrison Ford, Florence Pugh, and Mahershala Ali.
A surprising MCU statistic shows the impressive amount of A-list talent Marvel Studios has amassed throughout the years, revealing how every movie in the franchise has had at least one Oscar winner, except for one Phase 5 installment. Throughout the McU's 16-year history, dozens of accomplished performers have joined the franchise, including multiple actors who have won Oscars for Best Actor or Best Supporting Actor, either before or after their MCU debut. Recently, it was reported that Marvel Studios is allegedly scrapping three sequels and one of them is Eternals 2, along with Ant-Man, and Captain Marvel sequels. The reason was cited that Disney does not want to take risks and focus on sure shot hits.
2021’s Eternals failed to resonate with MCU fans
Kevin Feige, Marvel Studios boss, and Disney CEO Bob Iger think pole apart when it comes to Eternals 2. While Feige wanted to make an Eternals sequel, Iger seemed to be certain that it would be a guaranteed flop. So they won’t move forward.

On Friday nights, IndieWire After Dark takes a feature-length beat to honor fringe cinema in the streaming age.
First, the spoiler-free pitch for one editor’s midnight movie pick — something weird and wonderful from any age of film that deserves our memorializing.
Then, the spoiler-filled aftermath as experienced by the unwitting editor attacked by this week’s recommendation.
The Pitch: You Can’t Expect the Irish to Get Lucky Every Time
One of the biggest tragedies of modern cinema is the unavoidable fact that most movies make you wait at least ten minutes to hear a floating head loudly proclaim, “The penis is evil!” But 1974 was a different time and “Zardoz” is a different kind of movie, so it delivers that exact line before the five-minute mark even arrives. Believe it or not, that’s not even the first Wtf moment in this genitalia-obsessed fantasy epic.

It is not a new phenomenon in Hollywood that movies that are often critically and commercially panned end up getting recognized as great films years after their release. The MCU is no stranger to this phenomenon, with Eternals being the latest film getting this treatment. However, the film is now being compared to some of the better films in the franchise, even being touted as better than the likes of Spider-Man: No Way Home, which is one of Marvel’s highest-grossing films for the MCU. Such comparisons have angered Spider-Man: No Way Home fans and caused them to take to the internet to defend the film.
