Paul Strydom is a young actor and scriptwriter that made his TV debut in 2022 with a role in kykNET's Projek Dina. He garnered significant accolades that year as a grade 11 learner, including winning the prestigious National Acting Competition as a first-time entrant, reaching the Top 8 of ATKV-Digitoneel, starring as Kenickie in the Playhouse Theatre's production of Grease and winning Best Actor for his performance in the best ATKV-Tienertoneel production for 2022, mAaNmAaTs.
2023 was a whirlwind year for Paul, balancing his final year of school with numerous TV and theatre projects. He featured in kykNET's Die Byl, MNet's hit series Summertide and VIA's reality show, Gekies Vir Die Kollig. He wrote, directed and played the lead role in Slaansak, which won him Best Student Production at ATKV Tienertoneel. Paul won the Best Actor award on this national platform for the second consecutive year for his portrayal of the character, Tomie, in the winning production Wegwêreld, but also won the Aardklop Pronk Digitaal's best actor award for Straf van Skaamte.
Paul is a gifted speaker with a passion for people, the performing arts and leadership. He ended his high school career on a high note when he was selected as one of only 25 South Africans to attend the Global Changemakers Youth Summit in Cape Town.
In 2024, Paul has been busy with back-to-back projects, including his first film, a Netflix series and the upcoming Showmax series, Spooksoeker. He is filming another highly anticipated Showmax series, set to be release in 2025, while studying marketing through IMM in Stellenbosch.
